So Labour the snakes tried to bring retaining EU Single Market access to the vote and it was defeated. Then they abstained from the EEA membership vote, probably realising they didn't have the support for stopping Brexit. The last opinion poll by YouGov on voters thoughts on who should be PM had Corbyn at only 24% and Theresa May at 37%, with Don't know at 37% too. So whilst the country was clearly unsure of Theresa May... Corbyn is not well thought off. It will be interesting to see what the country thinks of Theresa May now, as I am happy to eat humble pie... it looks like she's done well tonight. She's amended stuff slightly to get the vote through tonight, but so far it doesn't look like it's in favour of remain. But I will reserve judgement as I don't what deal she came to yesterday with the rebels. I know it's on the meaningful vote, but I hope it's not going to derail Brexit. At this stage though, Brexit looks like it's winning.

Despite all the political grandstanding on MP voter intention in the commons, the Commons has done the right thing and overwhelmingly voted against the Lords on making the EEA access a negotiating objective. It looks like Brexit is being agreed with. WOW, Even though no doubt Dominic Grieve voted in favour of the Lords Amendment it seems other MP's have rejected it in spite of him. MP's have just rejected Labour's amendment to the Lords bill asking for access to the single market to be negotiated. Thank goodness. Now it's the EEA vote, if this is accepted. Brexit is over.

We will see who the imbeciles are at the next general election if the government even lasts that long. They are cementing Hung parliaments for many years as millions will simply refuse to vote either Tory on Labour. If they vote for the Lords amendment keeping the UK in the EEA and hence forcing us to accept Freedom of Movement is not ending.... I will never vote Torie or Labour for the rest of my life. And I suspect there are millions of people who will feel the same way.

Billy, I totally disagree. We are told time and again that immigrants contribute more than they take. Those statistics DO NOT include money they send back to their home countries. It's common sense that no one seems to think about. The OFT does not monitor international payments leaving these Immigrants accounts as retail customers as part of that claim. Think about the massive amount of money they send back to family in their home countries. That's money that is not spent in the UK, that doesn't get VAT charged either because it's not spent here. That's money no longer kept in retail banks in the UK, and therefore can't be used by our banks to lend to people (that's how retail banks work). If British people were doing the jobs they are that money would stay in British bank accounts and be spent on British goods and services, not sent to other countries. And for those of you who say "yeah but British people don't want to do the jobs the immigrants do". Well you're right, and neither would I because the wage is so pathetic. And the reason the page is not a living wage is down to the relentless supply of cheap Labour. Employers mostly only pay what they have to pay, if they think they can get immigrants on the cheap they will take them, they no incentive to increase wages as there's no competition between employers for the best unskilled labor. If they vote to keep us in the EEA, and we don't have control over our borders there's going to me MILLIONS of angry people. Can they not see what's happened in Italy, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland and Austria. They are going to awaken a sleeping beast. 5th of May 2022 (if the government survives till then) will show that in a big way.

Branson, Yes I noticed it... because "If you want an immigrant for a neighbor, vote Labour"... they know immigration is a big part of their voter demographic. But their inability to read the statistics on the England & Wales politican census means they argue for immigrants more than they argue for British Working class people... and that's why they're struggling to win power. It's simple... 406 constituencies vote Leave, 242 constituencies voted to remain. So if the MP's were not being selfish, if the MP's were voting in line with the majority in their constituencies there should be 406 votes rejecting the Lords amendments and especially on access to the EEA. They clearly think the know better, so why give people a referendum, why ignore the polls showing what people were most bothered about (immigration) and why pretend we're leaving on the 29/03/2019 when in fact we will still have the MAJORITY of EU rules to abide by including totally open borders between us and the EU. Democracy is dead in this country, we have a dictatorship minus the torture and killings.

RDR, I hope the whole of Westminster collapses if they deny democracy. Why give us a vote on the EU membership if they're going to keep us in all the shackles we're currently in, and then insult our intelligence by pretending we have left. Branson, neither is letting in 600,000+ people a year, and expecting that not to lower the quality of living/life in this country. The Single market is great for big business, cheap Labour from immigration. But for the average person in this country... Increase supply of Labour means lower wage inflation. Increased supply of people demanding housing raises rents and house prices. Increased demand on the NHS increases waiting times, clinical errors through overworking, and means there's less money to go around. Increased demand on transport networks, including roads makes the daily commute hard to bare. Increased demand on school places means many parents can't get their child into their preferred school, nearest to their house. No borders means less security as the people who want to hurt us can travel easily between countries. I could go on and on.

RDR, the only potential saving grace here is that the commons is quite empty at the moment. But I doubt that matters Grieve will have rallied the rebels after taking an ear bashing off Anna Soubry no doubt. Both she and Ken Clarke were the only two of the rebels to vote in favour of the Lords amendment on a meaningful vote by going against Theresa May's wishes. And she likes to kick off, so no doubt she's read the rebels the riot act so they vote to prevent Brexit today.

The Turkey's won't vote for Christmas. We need to do the voting for them, that's the civilized answer. But if the average person understood what they're doing, I doubt it would be civil.

Is a Tory MP. He's the MP who leads the Tory Rebels against Brexit. And he's currently as I type speaking in the commons, arguing for us to stay in the Customs Union and European Economic Area. So by that I need to assume he is going to vote for us to stay in the EEA. If the rest of the Tory Rebels, lead by him also vote to remain in the EEA. Bang Brexit only in name, the UK will still be subjected to Freedom of Movement laws and EU Supremacy over UK courts. If this happens I hope the country has a mass protest against both Tory and Labour.

Have a look at yesterday's voting results. Notice who the No voters were? Overwhelmingly Labour. The questions were worded asking if they "disagreed" with the Lords amendments. Which means by voting No they agree with the Lords amendments. To simplify these amendments, they are basically an attempt at stopping Brexit. I could go into detail on all of them, but that's what it is. This means, factually speaking... many of those Labour MP's voted against what their constituencies voted. So we have unelected Lords forcing parliament to vote on their attempt at stopping Brexit. And elected Labour MP's often voting completely against their own constituencies, denying them democracy. The only reason the government has won these votes so far is down to Theresa May trying to do some behind the scenes deal with Tory rebels to get them to vote against these Lords Bills. Tomorrow is the big one, if MP's vote to make the basis of negotiation for Brexit as remaining in the EEA, we'd then have a Norway style agreement and therefore no control over our border with the EU. Most people who voted mainly on the basis of controlling our borders, this would be Brexit only in name, and the UK won't have properly left the EU. Politicians will pay on the General Election for that.

The stock of Glencore remains unchanged according to another link I read. So is the debt for equity, meaning equity in Glencore, or equity in Katanga? Am I right in thinking Glencore was owed the $5.6 Billion, and instead of pursuing that money they've opted to take Equity in the mine instead? The article's not worded very well, none of them on it are.

By giving these concessions on the "Meaningful vote", all she's done is kick today along the road again. If Parliament truly is given a meaningful vote they can reject Brexit for anything they want. So on and on it goes again.

Exactly I'm happy to walk away with no deal too, we will do fine outside of the EU. Ramp up trade with the USA, China, India, Canada... that alone would make a massive dent in anything lost with the EU. We're prevented from pursuing deals with those countries properly as we're in the EU... Their economies are massive and growth prospects good.
