Never seen so much blindness in all my life. There's no Visa's, there's going to be an agreement between the UK and the EU called "The Mobility Framework" AKA Freedom of Movement with an application form that almost never gets rejected. Sajid Javid has already said as much.

Unless the EU immigration is treated exactly as Non EU immigration is treated, then by default it's special treatment. Anyone who thinks this isn't Freedom of Movement dressed up with a change of name is either a remainer or burying their head in the sand.

Even the Non EU Migration is not handled properly either. And we're not even dealing with EU Migration the same way. The Conservatives are acting like Marxist Socialists for our population, but rampant capitalists for themselves. Labour are acting like Cultural Marxist who will flood the UK with the other half of the 3rd world, and make us all poorer with McDonnells Marxist policies.

Our country is full of cowards, it's going to take longer than the likes of Austria, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Slovenia, Estonia and Czech Republic to vote in what the majority of people want. Too many people scared of voting something other than Conservatives and Labour in case either get in... but life is going to become so intolerable in this country as the years go by that we either rebel politically, or there will be a civil war.

UKIP or For Britain... and that's been repeated by thousands of people that I've personally seen on Twitter. No doubt the numbers will be absolutely massive deserting the Tory Traitors.

Absolute nonsense. It's Remain dressed up as Brexit. There's no-one playing any part. Just lying politicians lead by Treason May going completely against the referendum result. The Conservatives will pay a big price at the next general election. They've lost my vote for life, and the wife's, and judging by social media there's many people thinking the same!

As expected she lied for 2 years, her plan is basically what we already have... the Customs Union is now "The common rule book", and "Business friendly Customs Model". We will still share all EU laws on trade, and be subjected to the ruling of European Courts with these laws.

Freedom of Movement has not ended, she is lying about that too. It's going to be called the "Mobility Framework". So instead of EU citizens moving around the EU by simply scanning their passport. They now have to just fill out an application form to study and work in the UK. There will be no Visa's. Zero doubt nearly all of them will be allowed to work or study in the UK, unless they're a criminal which Sajid Javid has already said. It's a total dress up to lie to leave voters.

And to think some leave voters were stupid enough to say "just give the women a chance" when she was first chosen as the Conservative leader. It never made sense to me, she voted to remain. She's never believed in nor wanted Brexit in the first place.

If the Conservative party is not utterly decimated at the next general election I'll be shocked. Looks like the UK could be joining Austria, Hungary, Poland, Italy, Slovenia, Estonia and the Czech Republic with a right wing government at the next general election. At the very least neither party will have a majority, nor be able to form a coalition.

The only hope now is that the EU will reject the proposals... although why would they? It gives them supremacy over our trade, they call the shots, they implement the laws on us and we still have to accept Freedom of Movement in return by pretending to have control of our borders with "The Mobility Framework".

I can not wait till the next general election :-)

In terms of boosting the share price, I honestly think the market would react more favorably to paying more debt off than buying shares. Buying shares takes more out of circulation, but paying off debt would send a signal to the market that Glencore is a strong long term investment with the ability to weather the storm. At this stage when the market is relatively high, most people looking to invest are buying dividend payers, companies with strong balance sheets... so that if the market deteriorates they know they've bought a strong company paying a good dividend to weather the storm.

It was more than that... it was doubts on the value of Glencore's inventories, doubts on it's cash flow... those doubts could come back if this trade war escalates. Manageability of debt is completely down to market conditions. If the global trade war doesn't sort itself, if it results in tit for tat for months at some point that will lower global trade, as it has done in past trade wars of that magnitude. A drop in global trade lowers demand and obviously cash flow.

So yes I agree right now Glencore can easily service it's debts, as I've said in other posts. But why would they want to just service it's debts when they can pay more of it off and leave the market in zero doubt that Glencore can weather the storm if the whole world goes to sh*t financially?

If it doesn't escalate, then those buying now will be laughing when it hits £6 or more because right now Glencore is in a good position, it's cash flow is massive. Even if it gets fined from the USA it would need to be a massive fine to make a big enough dent... will it be? No one knows that either... The biggest threat is the trade war. The USA's tariffs on China come into effect at midnight tonight.

We already know China has threatened to retaliate with the same amount in tariffs of US Soya Beans, Fish and Crude oil. How Trump reacts assuming they do will determine direction.

The market is holding in a range waiting to see if a country backs down or escalates it.

Exactly it's the same denial you see all over the LSE over and over again. I have genuinely lost count on the number of people who defend an investment they have to the death regardless of the facts, only to lose their shirt later on when market conditions change.

I'm not saying Glencore is a bad investment. If the trade war sorts itself I actually think it will rise far faster and far greater than it's immediate peers. But that doesn't change the fact that it's highly leveraged and higher risk as a result.

We've covered that... the collateral you speak of goes up and down in value depending on market conditions. The cash flow goes up and down in value depending on market conditions.

If this trade war escalated into a massive Global trade war, wiping off in excess of $1 Trillion in trade, and logically demand for commodities. What do you think would happen to the value of those inventories? What do you think would happen to the cash flow if there was less demand for the commodities Glen mines and trades?

Will demand for commodities drop if it does? Probably.

Glen has a higher percentage of debt to networth than it's peers... that makes it a riskier stock. It's as simple as that. But obviously if things go well in the world, it's share price is likely to gain far more than the other miners due to it's diversification and higher leverage.

That's just it, it's not an error. You made an assumption I didn't understand, that because I didn't work in the world of finance and didn't know some fancy accounting terms to essentially describe the same thing... that I must be naive blah blah blah....

I know exactly what Glencore is doing, and have demonstrated that long before this thread. I just don't use fancy terms to complicate things... I could learn those fancy terms using my accountant friend google and pretend to be an accountant too. But why bother when I can describe exactly what you described using simple language that's easier to understand.

This is something you need to understand scfc... If you start the tit for tat, that's what you'll get. If you try to disguise a dig in a comment, and then play Mr Innocent it's not going to work. If you're pleasant, so am I. But one thing you won't stop me doing, and neither will anyone else on the LSE is stating my opinion even if it's an opinion you don't want to hear.

I talk to people on here and have done for months on end, the board needs balance not just Peter Pan happy thoughts and condescending arrogant types trying to shoot down a negative comment about a stock they hold. Feel free to keep it going I guarantee you won't outlast me.

No you were being condescending from the first reply... saying I didn't understand, I don't work in the world of finance etc... I understand exactly what they're doing, my primary school maths example shows it. As does another example I discussed with Billy etc months ago on it. You used accounting terms to essentially say the exact same thing as I did, but yours sounds better due to those terms.

This is what accountants do, they shine a turd... they role it in glitter... and say look it's not really a turd.

They're dressing up the total debt they have just as the other miners do. Although Glencore is dressing it up more because it has more debt than it's peers in relation to it's net worth because it's leverage is higher.

If cash flow and inventories values take a hit for whatever reason and that debt is not reduced more... watch the market slaughter the share price.

RIO = Debt is 29.7% of Net Worth
BHP = Debt is 45.8% of Net worth
AAL = Debt is 41.6% of Net Worth
GLEN = Debt is 68.7% of Net Worth

So still lagging it's peers in strengthening the balance sheet. And people wonder why Glencore tends to drop more than the others when there's doubts in the market. The higher the debt the faster the fall in bad times. The higher the debt the faster the gain in good times.

It's not rocket science.

The existing tariffs may be factored into stocks by now, but no one knows if the EU, USA, China or Canada will impose new tariffs. Until they get sitting round the table anything can happen.
