30p placing tonight to raise £4.9m for gearing up for new orders. Can't see that taking long to fill. Wish I could have some.
So?
I wonder what the market reaction to the results would have been without the CEO news. The results are very solid all things considered. The CEO news was to be expected and no disrespect to our new leader, but any change of successful boss was going to be met with some kind of worry by sections of the market. Whatever the case, as we have a long-term insider taking over, I'm confident of continued progress by this highly competent company.

Note to MOS - when trumpeting your global megabrand marketing nous, it might be an idea to learn how to spell "Louis Vitton" or people may just move on.
Hi All - just here to say thanks for raising £350 for Macmillan. There's still plenty of time of course if anyone else feels like adding to the sum. I'll pass on big thanks too from the staff at Soft Touch Arts in Leicester to those who have donated there to support their work with young people.
First and most importantly - all the very best to Sandhopper and hope to see you here for a long while yet. Second, many thanks to everyone who has contributed so far - I'm touched by people's generosity. Finally, judging by tonight's rns it seems IP Group have been selling off. Given they are awash with cash from the Oxford Nanopore IPO I'm hoping they don't see the need to carry on selling and maybe we can start to float up? I know it's rarely as simple as that but would be nice to get things moving north.
Right I've sorted out out a Just Giving page for Macmillan Cancer Care - you should be able to access it here www.justgiving.com/trx - rather perversely, I will be giving my donation to a local charity in Leicester that I was on the board of for many years. I didn't want to force you lot to donate to a local charity but if you'd like, please have a look at the work of Soft Touch Arts at https://www.soft-touch.org.uk/donate/
Hi Everyone- just checked back in and - given my somewhat pessimistic guess - sorry to see I won. I'll look into a Just Giving site later tonight. I'd like to be able to give a small amount to Leicester youth charity I support but the bulk to a more mainstream national charity.
The CEO made a similar statement not long before that placement - read the posts form that time, that's why it's understandable to be a mite skeptical now. I hope you are right - experience suggests caution.
Out of interest, what precisely is it that has seemingly persuaded a few thousand Mexicans to pay a dollar week for LivesScores - I assume it is something more than, erm, "live scores", and I assume it's something that doesn't cost MOS much to supply, in other words I don't think we're giving them The Athletic exactly. Anyone know the detail?
"Oxford Nanopore is raising money, not making money. Not sure where you enthusiasm comes from". Are you suggesting these two things are mutually exclusive Monty? Anyhow I think it is fair enough to be excited about the impact of the Oxford Nanopore IPO on our share price.
I sold a tranche at 2606 - taking five-bag profit but also with a view to trading, thinking it might have topped out. Looks like I was a pound out - may have to wait a bit to get back up to my previous holding. Whatever , tremendous performance by all concerned with the company.
Yep - 28 April. Do I think they will be good? Depends on what we think is good. We've all been waiting for the company to swing into the black, something which has obviously hit bumps in the road. I can only think that the biggest influence on balance sheet is the state of the pandemic in the USA and the level of operations being done that use our products. On that basis the last six months are unlikely to show huge improvement, but as long as we're still ok with funding to get through to profitability I'll see that as good enough. I think we (should) all still be in hold mode right now and maybe this time next we see serious change...same old story I know.
"They know! Nobody sells this close to good results!"
But they do of course. I seem to remember last July IPO selling their holding in Ceres a matter of hours before the SP went through the roof. It was hard to believe a major shareholder who had been in since the beginning wouldn't have known something was about to drop - but then when we pushed for an explanation at the AGM we got a simple "Sorry - we can't always get it right" response. My fairly obvious point then is, if someone is selling now - as it seems they are - they may not have it right.
Obvs the Nanopore IPO is the big news here for the next few months, but looking ahead for the next big beast in the portfolio does anyone have the knowledge to comment on the potential of PsiOxus? Today they confirmed ongoing collaboration with Bristol Meyers Squibb , which has to be promising but I don't have the insight to gauge whether this is anything more than just another longshot in the cancer stakes. We own nearly a quarter of the company.
Amazing to realise that while I've tenbagged here already, Phil's interview stresses we are still three years away from the big money rolling in when the licencing fees per kilowatt hour arrive from Bosch, Doosan etc. Suggests maybe limited scope for short-term trading, which is nice, though there are bound to be ups and downs over any three year period. I'll be reflecting hard on what my price would be for topping up on dips.
