George Frangeskides, Chairman at ALBA, explains why the Pilbara Lithium option ‘was too good to miss’. Watch the video here.
Well it's a start. It'd be good to build as high a base as possible before announcing we're finally a profit-making business.
OllieH - yeah it's .5bn upfront, but "the total potential deal value is $5.0 billion, as Akeso will be eligible to receive regulatory and commercial milestones of up to $4.5 billion. " In which case, how much would come to us is the question.
So - we'll pay up to 5.0 bn plus a low double digit royalties to Akeso. And we're up -currently 135 per cent. I assume then the market thinks we'll make squillions ourselves. I think I'd need to do a lot of extra research before coming to a strong opinion on that. Or is there some other reason I'm missing. Is it just people think they can make a few quick bucks on the rights issue.?
Good work all around to get BOY up and thriving again after the 2020/21 nightmare.. Well done everyone.
The alternative is people ask HL to buy 10,000 shares but only pay for the 20 they are guaranteed, then you are allocated the 10,000, HL buy them and come back to you and say 'We bought them for you, could you pay us please'. I don't blame them for getting the money upfront. .
So there was a major buyer. Richard Sneller, who controls a tenth of the company, spent 25 years with Baillie Gifford and now has his own fund, describing himself as "Highly experienced investment manager focused on seeking out under-appreciated long-term equity growth investments. "
Someone appears to be buying chunks of one million. Hope it keeps coming...
As we watch a nice little rise today, I'm pondering that we are probably, finally, just about turning into a profit-making business. We presumably won't get confirmation until around March, but the Hardman projections and the half-year results suggest it could be happening now. Would be nice to think that will take the sp up a level and give us some dosh to expand new products and European operations. Then maybe in a few years we can think about divis.
"she is against them, so I can't see it happening". -Quite. I mean the idea of a new government performing a U-turn after a couple of days is simply unbelievable.
Bobsson - I've tried to say to myself I'm not touching my investment until 1.75 but you never know - if it feels it might never get there I could cave early, but if it feels it's got further to go I may delay. But we all know how hard it is to get these calls right
Very nice to see us approaching the figure of .62, symbolically important for me as it was my then-lowball prediction which won the sweepstake in October 21 and which ended up with a nice little donation from many of you to Macmilllan. Let's hope it's not too long before we all feel so minted we can make more donations.
So why exactly does the presence of a tournament require extra water toxicity monitoring that the regular population doesn't need? Is this a security issue? Is it just insurance for damage to national reputation if something were to go wrong? I'm happy for the order of course, but why do all countries not want this monitoring all the time?
So a family member of one of our NEDs has just bought £20, 000 worth. May not mean there's something in particular happening, but I reckon it's a very good sign that nothing too awful is coming along as we re-adjust to post-pandemic.
Do we have any idea what kind of BESS we're likely to install? Five minutes searching suggests Lithium -Ion batteries are the standard but other technologies to store and release such as compressed air and mechanical gravity are being developed. Also the RNS refers to BESS as the "first step" in repurposing Uskmouth, so speculation please on what else might follow.
" always get government support and not be allowed to fail."
I'm guessing you weren't invested in SXX.
I'd love to think you were right but I'm struggling to find the level of support/interest in tidal that I'd hoped for in the strategy. Ultimately tidal has got to be made to work - we may need more enlightened political leadership.
There's been some progress in March - a bit glacial but i think many LTH prefer slow but steady growth over boom and bust. For many years I think my hope with TRS was profitability by 2020 and sell up with three or four bags. Events, dear boy, events have rather taken over and my view now is closer to what people have been saying recently - profitability will come eventually but I have a longer timeframe and do suspect that a takeover in 2025 is increasingly feasible. No idea what the price could be then but I'd be hoping for more than three bags.
Up nearly 20 per cent in two hours. News coming? Just setiment? Sustainable?
