why would they dump just before divi ?? its the opposite today if anything if the shorters are worried that the x d date fall will be hoovered up without a get out for themselves they will want out today give them back to the loaner and loan again post divi, then maybe try again higher ! did you know that really tom ? are you being naughty ? :)

All the scaremongers are saying it isn’t paid until It’s paid which although disingenuous is true so the shorter theoretically could end up owning the loaner a divi payment but not receiving one themselves :) highly unlikely but would you risk it say 500,000 x 37 p worth ??? Easier to close shorts tomorrow and play another day

I keep being told there are no MM ! But any open shorts will need to be closed tomorrow or the loanee has to pay the loaner the dividend AND interesting bit :) whilst the contract would say the divi announced would need to be paid AND I’m very confident it will be paid , even if it isn’t paid the shorter would be on the hook!! Now that means they could be in the worst of both worlds, having to pay a divi “ penalty “ to the loanee and not even being able to switch long to get the divi !! And then return the share s
So fully expect a lot of closed out shorts tomorrow the risk is simply too large ! IMHO etc

One final thing ive been pondering.... For shorters they have to buy back and return the shares before the divi ex d date or pay it themselves, im lked to believe this is a standard loanee contract so we can expect fireworks tomorrow then :) especially if we spike on open and hang em out to dry :)

shoot they could do both ! even if you took on debt to buy back shares it would make sense at these levels ! And i think buy back is tax deductable ?? Im no accountant :)

I think also in spite of the scaremongering there may be a case to show that maybe the resignations were because the divi WILL be paid !!!

Im not saying it is, i am saying buying before divi allows you to deduct the divi 37p from whatever you pasy today atm the net cost per share would be 50p ish regardless of what price they open thursday ??? even @ the £1 they were that gives you a price per share of 63p ?? which is very close to the 62 p you were so pleased about ! Even better atm because its just over 80 ! no brainer gla

scotty BUT right now you can buy them for 84p minus 37p divi gives you an actual share price per share of 47p !! I think some folks are too clever for their own finacial welbeing lol buy now cost per share 47p buy ex d by your maths aprox 62p MMMMMM tricky ill think on it lol

Smart move by the bod ( opinion only ) would be to switch to monthly dividends after wednesday ! Lay out the next 6 months divis and pay em monthly like a few other companies do ! so last year there were three divi totally about 75p i believe so possibly less this year ( might be more ) but as a guess id say the next 6 months would be aprox $0.60 ish well pay 10 cents a month divi per share ! works for me :)

I could be wrong but the bigs are highly unlikely to let us plebs buy in the lows after x div ! They will be hoovering them up by the million.

or you could buy now, deduct the divi from the cost of the shares and your average will be what is it 37p cheaper than your account shows ??? Just a thought :)

... my shares will have a 44p average !!! What is not to like in that ? Could be the best trading of my life once the dust settles :) If you buy now for 85p deduct the divi off the share cost ?? why are we not way higher lol some scalpers taking 10/20% each to their own but theoretically i should be being paid more in divi than i paid for the shares within two year possibly less !! Not advice just observations gla
