“Two bulk samples taken from Marsfontein comprising 58-tons of fresh high-interest kimberlite and 62-tons of kimberlitic material from one of the residual stockpiles, known as ‘Dump E’. “
Think these are what is to be processed. Dumps or stockpile will be easy pickings .
Will they attract the dykes from which the fresh kinberlite was found?
Good to see that we are moving on a few fronts again.
Nice posts on Twitter showing the mobilisation of equipment on its way to start our first mining of Marsfontain.
I would like to know who will be doing the graft and what their slice will be.
I am looking for this year to be a transitional one where some assets, TR especially will come on stream as a money generator rather than the transformational cash cow asset we all hoped for. Remember James has been very wary of comparing TR with Marsfontain. I think he has left this speculation to us, over-excited investors.
However, that being said the makeup of the blows and dykes does compare well with the kimberlite structure found in the area including Marsfontain. The difference is that when Marsfontain was first mined in the early days, they found an anomaly with a concentrated number of diamonds just below the shallow overburden. Hence the quick payoff time of around 3 days.
The Marsfontain dumps and area to be mined straight after New Year did confuse me although on further direction of RNS you can see this material was tested and good results found. So why not generate some cash from easy access kimberlite?
Interesting to see is who we will be partnering with to mine and process this material and what percentage this will cost us. I am all in favour of selling diamonds rather than asking the market for cash to continue funding the cash burn.
I am also interested to see what comes after TR. We do need a plan /timeline as some on here have invested a great deal of time.
I Hope James does a Stockbox to give us some meat on the bones.
Still happy to hold and have and will increase my stake at these low levels.
As always honest and informative. Good statement for holders. not good for traders. "Magic"
" In the meantime, the adjacent Marsfontein ground will be contract mined from early 2023."
So it looks like we will be running the Marsfontain dumps through the plant in the New Year. Will this be a test of the plant ready for TR?
Will we contract mine TR cheap option without any infrastructure costs.
For those who need clarification of what the tweets mean then a look at this section of the BOD website will help.
Thorny River is the area in which Marsfontain and our new finds exist.

Take your pic from these two tweets
Mining Marsfontain early in the new year is my bet as to why we are seeing a rise. as people start to see production.

The first estimate was 2 Million tonnes of kimberlite.
·" Four further potential blow targets identified: the potential to further increase kimberlite volume"
One of these 4 came out to be the largest area identified. After which 2 more blows were drilled and identified as adding to the resource.
Maybe your 1.7 Million tonnes is a little less than optimistic.
Also worth remembering is that Marsfontain mined only 1 Million tonnes.
What I do feel is that the movement at Thorny River will be a trigger for other projects to come online.
Total mined kimberlite at Marsfontain was 970,347tone
Prior to the latest drill results, this was posted in an RNS.
"The projected volume of kimberlitic material in the River, River Extension and in the immediate area exceeds previous estimates and is now believed to be circa 2 million tonnes. For reference, the nearby former De Beers / SouthernEra Marsfontein mined volume was in the order of 1 million tonnes. The volume estimate was determined by the Company based on an external volumetric assessment and includes only areas on strike to drilling to date."
Think with the new resource estimate, when it potentially doubles the previous estimate, we can maybe get a little bit excited.
Another step forward and a piece in the Thorny River puzzle sorted.
I look forward to the new resource update and mining plan. I hope management is busy sourcing any infrastructure and plant ready for a smooth transition once all paperwork is in place. Knowing JC I am sure all bases are covered.
This is getting really exciting.
No need for a raise with that money in the bank. I think someone said a while ago that they were trying to get the warrant purchases through. Good news and funds the company for a considerable time.
Let's not forget this.

Another addition to the portfolio.

Two points I took from this
1. We are talking with people to decide whether to go for the smaller 5 Hectare one or the full 20 Hectare one. I believe the present resource said we are around 1.8 Hectares. No wonder he was excited about the new intersections of Kimberlite discovered.
Also, we are not looking to use the resource for funding. Going it alone looks like the option they are taking.
2. His excitement around the next big development in the Kalahari especially Miabwe. It was almost as though TR is done and dusted let's get on to the next big thing.
Why peeps are selling? They are traders not investors.
