@stokie. It was my point too. If I didn’t think I could get preferential treatment from the government I would be more likely to do a deal with Antler to get access to the licence, despite the lack of value we bring to the deal.

Our licence expires in October. We haven’t added much value to the licence which is not already in the public domain. Our “world class” technical team can’t point to any recent success. If I were a major used to operating in Africa I would be talking to the government to get preferred bidder status to be awarded the licence after it is relinquished in preference to carrying EOG.

@Bill agreed, except we can't, fossil fuels are embedded in every supply chain, whether for energy or as a raw material. Best we can do is stop burning fossil fuels and phase out use for single use products. I have been searching for a list of products which embed fossil fuels, ranked by criticality to human life and ability to substitute non-fossil fuels in their production - if we don't manage this finite resource we are heading for an existential threat.

I think we are focussing all our efforts and resources on Cloughton at the expense of a much better prize at Inishkea. EOG have still not replied to my request for an update on any discussions we have initiated with the new Irish govt to promote the case for domestic gas or to secure a licence extension - all quiet on the Western front I'm afraid.

Equatorial Guinea not on the list so I assume baseline 10%?

I asked the company over a week ago what discussions they had initiated with the new Irish govt to extend the Inishkea licence, so far no response.
