I never said it wasnt abused. It is. As is buying/pumping but how many would complain if this pumped to 50p in the next 7 days? It happens.

You either want a free market or you don't. Many are saying the want a free market but do not understand the implication of that on them with things they do not understand is all I am saying. What they are saying is they want regulation...more regulation. Does over regulation make a free market? Ban shorting i hear you say... But then what of producers who need the activity to be able to go about their business year after year / decade after decade. Well, perhaps it should only producers who can short right. Well, no as that means its one rule for one and one for the other. Which is not a free market neither. So, by saying shorting should be banned is actually shooting yourself in the foot.

What should happen is...manipulation for nefarious reasons should be dealt with up the food chain and not stop with scape goats. Then you see the criminality stop. Unlikely though. So, until then... manage that risk!

Further, read again his 31 Dec 2023 00:47 post and see the irony. In the case of GGP SH, the short position has had an effect on the SP. Without doubt. If youve followed the short coverage here you from its origin you would know where it did come from and who it was that delivered it. You'd also know how it would impact in the months ahead from July 2021 and where the SP was going. All of which is documented.

I didnt say it is not having an impact. I know it happens and prepare/act accordingly. Most people if they know something will happen manages that risk.

There really is some silly comments being added to this thread. Guys, you are sounding like a bunch of Children playing a game with adults. Participating in the market place with a short position is both providing and removing liquidity. I borrow shares, and sell into demand. I have removed liquidity from market but have to pay fees to borrow, so liquidity over there. And, crucially the liquidity was BORROWED... I then have to return those shares so i need to buy. Thus i provide liquidity to the market. The price is irrelevant in terms of liquidity. So, ultimately this same as what you do. Without liquidity there is no market. That really is it. As CM, our advisor and mentor keeps saying, 'Understand the Algos and you have a chance. Know them and you will be in a whole new world'

I am not saying that those with deep pockets can take advantage of that scenario...They can and do. To achieve that they need people / participants to take advantage of...

If it is a short team...They have to be able to buy back. Those can be bought from you or not. Your choice. They will rely on traders but theay wont get all of them...mostly they want weak hands. They expedite that by deploying pysops & getting into minds. A bit what you just posted.
