What do you think? Have we hit bottom?
I'm going to wait this out - the sp will come back when the dust settles as the company is actually doing ok. I'll average down when it appears to have bottomed out (perhaps when the FTSE hits 1500!! lol). I sold out of MYH for the opposite reason, the news those guys came out with screams zero credibility. No doubt if they start to recover themselves, with the next set of results, they'll be a point to trading them - I am currently expecting the SP to continue to drop for a while (MYH).
Boy I hope you're right. i don't want to sell at a loss (not that I didn't make a profit on this already) but I am concerned this isn't the bottom. When i took a look at the forum for ovenclean fanchiesses, some certainly seemed to be quite focused on their business and making it work and there was the odd clueless one to. As you say, it's the ones that sell who really count.
I hope Mr Connell's comments for the future aren't simply more jam tomorrow. Moneyman - didn't you say this guy told you we wouldn't be disappointed. It's comments like that followed by this that damage the credability of these people. The fact that profits are down not up changes the way I view this one. And their guidence that their business wasn't affected by the credit crunch has now turned into an excuse for failure (not that I fully bought into that one in the first place). Will hold as I can't sell at these levels - I just hope they really have taken out £0.5M of costs and can deliver growth. I hope the influence of Myhome famous backers comes to bear in a positive way!!
thanks for the update, thats good information.
I wonder if EGX has now hit bottom. 23p cash per share at Dec2007 and huge potential in Genlec and PnuPower products. Genlec looks like it'll start to take off in 2009 and when the europe wide sales start up, with rising energy prices and household budgets under pressure, cost saving boilers can only be good news.
I bought more this morning when it hit 20.75p. Looking at the chart, I'd expect a sharp correct upwards at some point. I hope this comes off the back of the next set of results showing an upturn ........... wait and see!!
all aim listed media companies, all suffered similar drops in the last few days. this is what I mean by negative sentiment. I suspect the view investors are taking it that in a down turn, market spend is less. The fact the ATG is probably going the return £3M this year is another matter (profit estimate from T1ps site).
The takeover deal is agreed isn't it? I think the market in general is down and I still think that general sentiment with this type of company is negative. I am sure that a spike in the share price will be triggered at some point. It would be a good time for the telegraph or other to write an article pointing out the amazing value in this share. The low trading volumes don't help.
I note these are very difficult to sell into the market at the minute (not that I'd sell at this price). Through Barclays, i can't sell more than £200 at one time. I often get a buy and sell quote to see the actual spread. As buying is easy, this share must be over sold at the minute - I guess this helps explain the current drop in SP
Either this is heading for an even more crazy valuation or I'm missing something. With a share buy back on it's way, a profit enhancing acquisition just completed and new contracts wins announced, why do we sit at a PE of little more than 4?
Thanks - very useful. I can see that some operators aren't happy but also saw some positive messages and references to being busy - not all bad news. These sort of forums always tend to lean more to the improvements required rather than the good points. I'll carry on researching myhome's business. It's good to get such a link to people involved in the business.
thanks - that sounds like good advise. Myhome was one of t1ps 2008 tips at 44p. The story they put forward (straight from Myhome no doubt) is that Myhome have been so busy with acquistions, they've taken their eye off the ball and haven't spent sufficient time managing / growing the business organically. That's all over now blah blah blah. Your post puts a different view on things. I'll keep aiming at more short term profits and see how things develop. Hopefully they can sort the business model out. Thus far, the profit growth they've achieved is pretty good. Whilst the PE remains low and for as long as they appear to be growing, I'll retain an interest in their business on and off SP ups and downs allowing.. Good post
That link didn't lead anywhere. When I searched on it the subsequent links didn't connect either. Can you provide another link or way of accessing forums giving feedback from franchisees?
Why would you buy shares in a company that screw everything they touch up? If you're not expecting too much, what's the point? I invest in businesses that I expect to give me a good return. i've used one of the fanchise services, ovenclean - the service offering was very good and offered good value. I don't know anyone running a myhome franchise though. Anyway - why invest?
Looks like market sentiment is pushing both of these companies down. I track a number of AIM listed advertising groups on the same watchlist and I'd say the overall trends for this type of company has been down since the start of the year. What frustrates me a bit is that most of them make a loss. MDC and ATG are both cash generative and are both buying their shares back. Makes no sense to me. If the ATG drops much further, I'll buy more. It must come right in the end.
Sold mine at 309p expecting a drop - what's your view on the bottom this time - I recon 220p
I think it's a strong buy with my medium terms hat on but on this occasion, I'm with you. I'm hoping it will continue to drop before I buy more. When it drops a bit below 20p, I'll buy some more and hope for a further fall. I'm buying in £2k lumps and aiming to sell after each significant rise starts to faulter.
I agree, I sold mine today will a view to buying back very soon. Long term, this is still one of my favorite shares.
unless we see a really sharp rise again, i'm not doing anything - there is no doubt in my mind that it will go way up in dew course.
