Well I went to see Tenet at the Hackney Picturehouse on Friday evening and the place was packed. No empty seats other than social distances - which makes it about 65% capacity. Everyone was munching on food to avoid the mask pressure.

There were showing every 30 mins and all were the same.

Also - I don’t believe 6 people couldn’t make head nor tail of the movie. It’s pretty well signposted throughout. At one point they even have ash falling backwards to halo you figure out which timeline is which.

I watched it too. Didn’t think it was as complicated as it made out to be. Some of the direct physics I sort of ignored, but the overall story was reasonably easy to follow. I thought inception was better to be honest.

Can you guys help me understand something please ... I'm new to this. I put £10k or so into a bunch of stock back in April. Most was counter Covid (like Cine) but I also picked up a Leverage Shares plc 2x Amazon ETP which took off like a rocket. I was keen to track the gains and so entered a stop loss each day which was, give or take 5% below opening and should have given me 25%+ profit. I think the last stop loss was 5800 or something.

Suddenly all my shares sold for 3600 and I ended up losing all my gains and an extra £1k or so. Apparently it "gapped" ... frikkin balls.

Is that because it was a leveraged share? Or is that something which could happen with Cine? I'd quite like to stick 2,000 share I bought at 38p to stop-loss at 55p ... to then buy them back when it (probably) dips even further in one of the weird Cine movemebts ... but have been very hesitant to do so as I have fought hard!!! (averaged down four times below 50p) to get to where I am an don't want to lose it on some weird technicality.

Any advice / views?

I'm in the same boat - first investment. FTSE Tracker all the way ... 3UKL or Luk2.

I also went with IAG and BP. They didn't go so well!

Annoyingly both have been pootling along, so you haven't actually missed out on anything.

Every other Monday we dropped 5% on opening. So technically we are already up 10%.

... I will look back on this investment decision and either think to myself ... yowser, good job I held that stock and made 400% in 6 months or I will look back on this and f@uk me, I really did not see the wood for the trees and lost 98%.

Currently I think there is a 50/50 split between these potential outcomes!!!

I got spiked on a stop-loss on an Amazon tracker by Hargreaves Lansdowne. Lost me £800 on the trade ... and had I kept to stock I'd be over £1k better off than that.

One of the interesting things about following Cineworld is the multiple times daily experience of seeing a blip upwards in Share price and wondering whether that is going to lead to 0.23% increase or 23% increase ... it's a lot more exciting to watch that anything else I work with.

How can a share price be "Held there for more Chinese investment"? Demand increases ... prices go up. It's not like there is someone out there deciding the price.

Having been watching this board and the market for the best part of two months my view is that the shares in the long term will probably rise. But I do think there is an outside risk that the bottom will fall out. Only a small chance - 10% if I had to put a number on it. Probably less. In that case the Shorters will make a ton of money ... which is why they are still pootling along and undermining the share price.

When things rise I think there will probably be a short squeeze ... and there are a lot of people on the sidelines looking at Cineworld with a view of ... "There's a 10% chance the fecker is dust" ... once it becomes clear there isn't then there will probably be a short sharp increase and then things will level off.

I think it will get to £1 by Christmas ... with 1 or 2 spikes in the next few weeks probably. But I also think there is a (very small) chance it will drop to 20p. US cases spikes / US delay opening / loads of independent cinemas go bust / people start getting sick with Covid-19 again / Covid-19 muttates into a more bad-ass Covid-20 ... there are a bunch of headwinds out there which could be a real problem. But hopefully not.

No-one has mentioned it today ... maybe today's the day where it finally ....

I'm also holding 3UKL (3x FTSE leveraged) ... which is slowly picking up as well.

August has seen my portfolio jump by about 80% so far. Admittedly this is back to pretty much to where it started ... but the next 6 weeks should be Boom town.

I'm going to start taking some money out where I can. I have my core stake I'm going to hold until, well ... min £1.

But bought in a small chunk yesterday @54p and have a sell order in @65p ... going to take some chunks out as we go up the ladder. This volatility is crazy, might as well ride some of the waves.

I'm 52p. Took 6 purchases to get there. It's been an emotional two months!

Me too. 54p. And put a sell upper limit @ 70p. Take me one of those peaks in.

I'm new to this ... those that are more experienced are you expecting a correction at some point? Should I drop 25% of my shares now at 60p+ and hope to pick them tomorrow for 50p+??
