Dont mean to be picky Eagle but there are far more sells since then which completely negate those large buys and I would think those that did buy have since lost money - sorry to say but this seems to be heading sub 150 again !! Good luck all the same and a good weekend !!

Hi BJ the main supermarkets in my area of France are Carrefour and Le Clerc which range from small to very large outlets. Interestingly they do not sell cigarettes or tobacco or the lottery tickets which are the preserve of the local cafes and Tobaccs. The government will not allow the supermarkets into this sector and it would be the final nail in the coffin for these under pressure outlets (Very similar to what has and continues to be happening in the UK Pub sector). Fresh produce such as Fresh Veg, meat, cheese and dairy is focused on one day a week local village markets, and a pleasure to shop at. Bread is naturally provided fresh through the local Boulangerie and the Chemists are again separate from the supermarket chains. All in all very different from your Tesco and other UK outlets

How - out of interest do you identify a middle class shopper when strolling around Lidl are the the ones not yelling at there children that are called Chardonnay or the ones with half full baskets of food preparing to go to Tesco to top up there shopping because of the limited range?

Tesco Plc�s planned 700 million-pound ($921 million) repurchase and cancellation of outstanding debt is a clear signal that it is on the path back to an investment grade, according to Bloomberg Gadfly�s Marcus Ashworth. That�s a smart move for the U.K.�s biggest retailer, which was dumped into high-yield territory in early 2015. Tesco may not need to raise debt now, but when it does, having an investment-grade rating will help keep borrowing costs low.

Pokerchips, - and an excellent post and points noted. Unfortunately with the three current Trolls are not invested here and IMO they are simply trying to drive the SP down with inane comments and refusing to accept that the turnaround of the company has been well handled by the new team. The Booker deal in the short term will indeed drive the price up if done, and as I have stated only time will tell. My reactions to the trolls are based upon there selective comments trying to link the actions of a previous team with the excellence record of the current team. I think it is fair to say that under the glare of public scrutiny it is unlikely if not impossible that they would wish or indeed intend to repeat the mistakes of that thoroughly despicable team. Any sensible investor knows exactly why the price was driven down to previous and current levels and that - if you believe as I do - that this team will restore the SP for this share back to previous levels it is therefor a great opportunity. As far as individual posters being able to influence the massive share structure that exists you are of course correct and is is well pointed out in your post, however my reason for asking the three Trolls involved if they are invested it is a pretty fair indication of there motive when they post. Given the number of posts made by them have stated plainly they expected entry points, it is fair to conclude they are deramping or shorting which in itself is ok, but when posting some evidence of real facts would make a change. Anyway, I do welcome your comments and value the content as being both balanced and accurate. Kind regards Jonjo

I refer you to my previous comments time will tell and you have nothing that anyone wishes to listen to - you don’t hold a single share, you have no stake in this company and as such recognised as inconsiiquential and irrelevant

Keep on trying but your making yourself look very foolish, the facts are this is a transformed company, leading grocer in the UK, great profits, best market share, pension liability reduction, reduction in overall debt, dividend being paid, increase in footfall, increase in margins, reductions in costs and a great acquisition looming which will blow the other competitors away. and best of all you have no stake in the company and have missed the boat so may I suggest you look at the above with distilled envy and realise how wrong you are !!!
