So what you are saying is that the loyal workers have had the opportunity to pick up lots of overtime and earn a well deserved income. Soup, if you look back to around 2014 you will see that one of the main drivers for privatisation was that the government could not afford to modernise and also allowed the government to cut down on civil cervices costs which was massive- no chance of any government wanting to return to those days - why would they and what would be the point IMO

On what you will save on a divi will cost on the thousands of civil servants that will be needed to run the company and then break your union to bits in the future. Never mentioned anything about profit or indeed the government propping up the company, you really should look to read a post properly before commenting. My comment was based upon your wild claim that JC will renationalise the RM and thus give it back into the public hands! Firstly Labour can't afford it, secondly what's the point? The reason why the government were so keen on privatisation was that they spent all the time arguing with the unions the Labour government in particular. Thirdly we are in the process of modernising the hell out of this company and with it will go the likes of you and your militant bunch of bruvers. Your previous comments as to how nothing will happen as you and the CWU rule the company is laughable especially as your Union owns nothing, we the shareholders own the company and ultimately the BOD report to us not your backward little Union based out of the 70's. On the subject of the Divi you seem to want to see pain inflicted on the shareholders and boast about how the cost of your dispute affects the Divi and comes out of there pockets. I might remind you that there are literally hundreds of thousand of investors (perhaps millions) predominantly pensioners that invest through investment funds that if what you say is correct will ultimately affect directly the pension they receive. You might like to dwell on that point before you start shouting your mouth off? Needless to say the posties deserve a good pay increase and pension so in a way I don't care. Makes me laugh all of the things wrong with the company blamed on it being privatised yet it is conveniently forgotten what it was like as a Nationalised company constantly at war with the management and the government - but of course all will be well when the inimitable JC renationises RMG - seem to have forgotten the last major strike was under a labour government still the government has the financial means to pay for such a move when labour get in - dream on !!

IS - lets try and keep it simple for you - I dont give an FF about you or your militant mates, you and yours are irrelevant because sooner or later the management team will get rid of you and modernise the company. You and your union are a piece of the past and do more damage than good. Your rallying cry is IA rather than helping the business to prosper which will in turn benefit its employees. I agree with the posties having a shorter working week as that will happen in any event as newer technology takes over and less workers will be required. I believe that more work will be sub-contracted out and contracts put up for tender at more competitive rates. I think that the management needs to reward workers more by bonus and performance and needs to integrate Imaginative technology to streamline both backroom chaps as well as those on the rounds. Like it or not all of this will come about because it needs too and eventually you will strike and talk yourselves out of a job. As for the talks, well it will be interesting how they will go but I do know one thing, p155 off the public at your peril - damage your market brand and the customers you serve and they wont forget !! Lastly - as an investor I believe the RMG and instead of ruining I would like to see it prosper, but investors seek fair returns for the risk and reward - ignore that and you wont have a business.
