Been investing for about 5-6 years made money on the banks in '09 then moved into AIM shares with mixed success. Made a nice profit on QFI. Would say I'm a novice used to buy and hold but I've started to trade a bit now sold AV in the 4.70's n bought back in the other day. Will have a look into ETFs and funds next after your recommendation
Cheers
Cheers appreciate it. Great minds think alike I dipped my toe into HSBC yesterday might put some more in and will have a look into the others. Was looking at unilever & Glaxo as well.
Hi everyone I'm a long time lurker on this AV board and enjoy the share talk on this board, everyone seems to know there stuff, with that in mind I wondered if I could ask for some opinions on where I should invest. I have around £5k I want to park for a long time in a few solid dividend paying shares that I don't have to worry about and can just leave to grow. I have a few ideas but I wondered if anyone had any recommendations and would be kind enough to help a fellow investor.
Thanks for the info Might look into buying myself a few shares then, ive heard a few people tipping this share, but wanted a bit more info before buying after reading the times article
Analyst in times recommended avoiding these shares, their products were out of favour and they were cheap for good reason, anyone shed some light on this? Do you think they will drop further before rising?
