is an interesting area, I agree
..as a pro (well as good as lol), I would say management, management, management is what matters, and good quality well aligned management is scarce, esp wrt AIM companies...
...without meeting management (which I don't), you have to be careful of everything (incl book value)
...given that severe handicap, book value is one of two or three key valuation metrics (small, medium or large company)...I rely on book value more than earnings (which are clearly subjective in many respects...just look here and the additional risk margin lol), and fcf more than any single other metric in most cases (but not here)
..... if you don't trust audited figures, you may as well give up investing & buy government bonds (rhetorical flourish, not investment advice)
