I suggest it is up to the directors to prove they and the company they mange are totally and completely legit by allowing invasive forensic audits on a scale way beyond the present standards; not for punters to prove the opposite ...as it stands, the burden of proof lies on the punters..... and for chinese companies in particular how can you tell..until it is too late????

as long as punters are prepared to turn blind eye, this will happen again and again .....pure laissez faire capitalism: no one forces the punters to gamble; it is like watching some strange sport: fleece the punters or some such ...the proper companies shd distinguish themselves by voluntarily adopting higher audit standards and other protocols (like escrowing director shares)...and then sensible punters cd avoid all listed companies that fail to abide to higher standards ...won't happen, but no harm musing

nothing will change until more iis and punters give up chasing the rainbow and demand a sea change in governance ...some change are simple and incl ..1. audits must be on behalf of owners not directors and treat directors sceptically...like random drug tests on athletes...forensic in depth assessment of all management accounts and connected parties, contracts, customers and suppliers ..2. all director shares escrowed and sales proceeds kept in escrow for at least a year (and immediately callable by company) ...wont happen, but it is near N Year and we can all dream of a less degenerate dysfunction world
