Visitor The "local" & "cleaner" were references to UK...My experience suggests that many of my peers in London have no proper social interaction outside their thin social strata - and claim to know what others less economically, socially & educationally advantaged think from their conversations with cleaner/cook/nanny/gardener etc I don't know how ord Zambians or others have reacted to the chinese (my experience is mid 1980s to 2005 so before the new YP), but you have perhaps confused my point about chinese money: my ref to Chinese money was it gave greater scope for politicos & people to express hatred of West now that there are other handouts available..I am prepared to accept that Africans hate/resent both Chinese and Western influence in their countries
