Cobra Q & A12 Jul 2024 10:48
For any investors like SwS who want more 'colour' or clarity then go to the Cobr web site and ask. I did yesterday regarding the 41% figure for the ISR bench test. Received the following courteous reply this morning:
'Thanks for your question. Rare Earth Metallurgy is a function of REE recovery, Impurity levels and acid consumption. These results are very positive - for example the level of REEs recovered is 13 times greater than aluminium. A ratio of 2:1 is generally considered very good, we consider our ratios to be excellent.
Based on our very low level of impurities, and very low acid consumption, we are confident of increasing recoveries through optimisation. One such optimisation process being tested is time under leach - this is being carried out by increasing the Bench scale ISR leach. '
A good reference for consideration is Alcara's Penco Module Project where recoveries of ~23% TREO underpin their economics. Lower costs of ISR is expected enable lower recoveries, however we expect to see increases as we advance and increase the scope of metallurgical testing.
