yes. I have got affordable housing and social housing mixed up

I thought that in order to get planning on some sites they had to build some of them to be used as social housing ? Just wondering what the councils pay them for these or if they have to give them for free ?

There is a Persimmon building estate near to where I live. I have just looked on rightmove sold prices using the postcode " DN5 9PU " and at the same time as houses were been bought Leasehold others were been bought Freehold. Since 30th June there isn't a sale showing. The last sales showing are a Freehold on the 29th June and Leasehold on the 30th June. I do believe these buyers were offered a Freehold but some buyers didn't want to pay the extra price.

Regarding leaseholds. Buyers pay solictors large amounts of money when buying a house. I thought it was their job to check things out and explain what you are getting for your 100's of thousands investment. All this about rising leasehold charges would of been wrote down somewhere in the paper work.
I am curious to know if the buyers were offered the freehold at an extra charge at the time of purchase ? if so surely it was the solicitors job to offer advice on the difference between buy freehold or an increasing leasehold.

Really ? with an over 10% dividend yield ? and 150p down from Friday and 540p down on year high.

I already hold Barratt and TW shares and feel happy with my purchase of PSN this morning at 2290p. Seems like a good buy 24hrs before results and not long to wait for a dividend.
