Good post on ADVFN that I'd thought I'd share (thanks to superg1) who emailed the Lesotho minister: Question I note recent comments from the mining minister in the Lesotho times and his anger about being misled by Paragon diamonds. A number of investors in the UK have also been caught out and the company don't reply to any communications. Can you confirm if Paragon have come up with funds as there was a deadline set as last Friday. Any information would be appreciated they seem to have misled many. Answer "Thank you very much for inquiring! The long and the short of it is that, PARAGON was given a chance but they failed to show up, as they too are struggling to start their mining operations allocated to them due to the same problem of lack of funds. Therefore, this matter has been openly been published on the local newspapers that any body who is interested in can show his expression of interest by writing a proposal to take over and buy the 75% shares that was belonging to LUCARA and come over to commence the mining operations." R. D. Mahlo (Mr.)- PRO- Mining Ministry of Mining Lesotho / LNDC, / Block-A,/ 4th Floor Contacts: Cell#: +266 6333-9349 / Office#: +266 2231-144 Basically, no funds, no show.....no hope. That fat lady is warming up. GLA.
I must be having an optimistic day. Clearly the Lesotho government want both Lemphane and Mothae in production but is there anyone else interested? If there is, and they have the money, then we're done for. If not, there's a good chance PM could get them on the cheap (really cheap). Today, I'm feeling this has still some distance to run, that fat lady is not singing just yet. GLA.
I know on the other BBs, there's discussion about paying the necessary brown envelope fee ;-) just hope we get the finance as, I'm beginning to think, we could get Mothae at a snip, which I think PM realised quite a while ago.
TBH, I'm really not sure if I'd want to transfer that sort of money into Lesotho, I'm not saying it would disappear, but it would probably just not appear ;-) The year 2020 is mentioned, would hope to hear something before then ;-)
Well I've sent two emails to Hugo, asking about this $30 million funding, and not had one reply. As much as I want to, I'm finding it extremely difficult to keep my faith in PRG. I remember when PM took over, the constant stream of RNSs, the video interviews, all looked so good. People on here, and myself, all applauding this fantastic CEO. I did question myself if it was all too good to be true and, sadly, it looks like it may have been. I'm hoping PM is just playing real hardball to get both Mothae and Lemphane at a ridiculous knock down price but fear he's just as we all thought, all talk and no walk. GLA.
Mark, I've just spent the last hour reading the ADVFN BB, some good stuff. I liked the conspiracy theory of firms creating multiple avatars and posting on these BBs, most suspicious ;-) I too showed my wife videos of PM's earlier interviews, in an attempt to justify my potential £24k loss, didn't do much good. My portfolio is in tatters at the moment, lost a stack on PMO before I got out at 88p. Could have been worse, they've just suspended their shares at 19p. Not a great time for the stock market at the moment but, when it turns, some great bargains to be had. GLA, not just with PRG but in all your shares.
I for one would be most appreciative if you would continue to keep us in the picture. You're doing a better job that the PRG website ;-)
I was on the phone to HSBC about some other shares and, in passing, just asked what I could sell my PRG shares for and they quoted 3.75p. Not too sure how you'll go about selling physical share certificates.
Drinks will be on me :-)
Lol mate, no need to apologise. TBH, I know people all go on about fundamentals and DYOR but I, and I'm sure alot of others, invested because of PM. With the current situation, he's clearly not on our Xmas card list but, should he pull this off, then he'll be the best thing since sliced bread. Funny thing is, on the Friday before shares were suspended, I was on the phone to HSBC and was offered. 3.75 for my shares, but said no. Had I taken it, the two companies I'd decided to invest in, one is down 80%, due to dilution and the other 25%. Ironically, PM's actions have, for the time being, protected my money.
Thanks for the update. I've got my fingers, legs, arms and eyes crossed for a late Xmas miracle.
LOL Saxxxon, fag packets, pizza boxes and busking...........could it get any worse? Every time I read the Lesotho times article, I read something else into it. Do we have finance, did we have finance, why didn't we put the money into Lesotho, was there something of huge concern that prevented the money being transferred? I see mention about the previous Government, so was there concerns with unrest in Lesotho? So many questions but nothing from PRG, so very disappointing.
I did see the reference to $30 million funding but, sadly, I simply don't believe them. Trust me, with my 500k shares, I hope I'm wrong but I find it hard to believe anything they say. All my latest comms with Hugo have not given the slightest sniff that finance has been sorted. There may be a reason for this, misinformation for potential rivals but I think it's all a sham. As for texting, well that's just simply embarrassing. I can just imagine the funding meetings. "So Mr Manduca, you want $50 million funding for your proposed diamond mines in Lesotho. So let's see your business plan and proposed income, expenditure". PM - " Yes, I have it all here on the back of this fag packet". GLA, we're gonna need a miracle.
I've written off my shares too Lizzie, this has been one very expensive lesson for me.
Great link m100, looks like PM and PRG have managed to **** off just about everyone and their dog, talk about a cluster ****. If we lose Lemphane, we have absolutely nothing. What a very sad state of affairs.
GS, I've just been in touch with HSBC and they've never heard of doing a transfer between delisted shares in an ISA and non ISA shares, although the girl, who was very helpful, did advise looking at the HMRC board for further info. So it looks like that's not an option for us. WRT my shares, I've already requested share certificates for my non ISA shares but will let my ISA shares run their course and let HSBC sort the share certificates early in Feb, just in case by some miracle PM manages to get us listed again. I agree with your comments, I certainly think PRG should be, at least, updating their website with exactly what's happening. The fact that it doesn't include their latest RNSs, doesn't bode well. GLA, I think we're gonna need it.
I'm thinking there's a lot more to this than meets the eye. Did PM stall on negotiations, knowing that, no matter what, Mothae would be handed back to the Government. It certainly makes sense to mine both Lemphane and Mothae at the same time. If anything from PRG is to be believed, when Hugo called me last year, he did say PRG had a very good working relationship with the Lesotho Government.
Hmmm, interesting point as I believe PRG said in a recent RNS they were looking at obtaining Mothae direct from the Lesotho Govt. I can only hope PM hasn't managed to **** off the Government, like he appears to have ****** off everybody else.
The last e-mail I received from PRG told me to watch their website for updates. Considering they've not kept it up to date with the latest RNSs, I don't particularly hold out much hope for any updates. Personally, from what was a more optimistic view in Dec, I'm beginning to think this is now a complete write off. I really have no idea what PM was up to but you have to question his decisions. Did he want to take this into a Private Company, does he stand to profit by doing this? Will be interesting at the next AGM. I wouldn't expect him to attend, for fear of being lynched. GLA.
Happy Tom, I might give HSBC a call and ask about that internal trade. I hold some GSK in my non ISA account, which I was going to move next tax year anyway. Thanks for the tip.
