Well so much for the obliteration as foreseen by Porsche1946.
The SP has held up well but is that simply due to the millions of shares being bought back by the company? Will the SP retreat once the buyback ceases?
Clearly only time will tell but GLA genuine DLG holders. Onwards and upwards :-)
Funny enough, I remember the almost exact words being said about esure, when I held them. Yeah, these shares don't exactly set the world on fire but the dividend % is almost unbeatable. As we get nearer the next ex div day, the SP usually increases quite nicely.
Wiscos, Yeah, I read that but, with the results not being used to determine capital requirements for now, didn't think that was the cause of nearly 3 days of losses.

Shirley, listening to the latest news on Portugal, one has to question the Government's decision to put Portugal on the amber list.....still the whole smoke 'n' mirrors thing is rather far fetched.
I have my stocks and shares ISA with HSBC. My dividend payment was showing at 07.30 hrs yesterday morning. It's been the same with all dividend payments over the years.....HSBC have always paid the dividend on time.
As for breaking the £3 barrier....fingers crossed we can get past it today.
I took a bit of a gamble. I used some savings (equivalent of my pending dividend) and topped up when the SP was at 2.84. The SP could have dropped but, thankfully, it's bounced quite well since then.
