Hi Dunks. Mostly correct. You'll go from having 2000 shares to 100 shares, what they will then be worth is anyones guess, in theory they should be worth 20 x your share values as you still own the same percentage of the overall company.

So they'll probably go from 20p to £4.

Can't see them selling their 6%, not really sure what the point would be especially in the context of the wider deal, they basically sold the money put in ($20m) for $14m of shares and future money. It's positive that they took this deal, seems like they think they've got some money to make. Certainly this share has another decent bounce in it, based on expectation. I think we will probably see some slow declines as the "I'm rich" meme posters on that stocktwits I clicked on (purely to see how the stock was doing in the US but I looked at the comments) move out.

That being said I see it as an opportunity to increase my shareholdings and average down a small amount (0.142) and I expect a few increases as well, when folks see the shares are too cheap and there is a decent claim under the ground there. So would expect to see small declines and then possibly a decent jump every now and again.

I'm about 5% up. It's not really a sell share though it it? It's a share you buy when you can't handle the excitement of premium bonds.

We bought the shares and paid stamp duty, if you sold them and bought again you'd pay stamp duty again. I guess we just about broke even over the day (if you were going to sell and then buy again). You've also got the people who think they're beating the system by buying shares the day before and selling first thing (not realising they've got a 15 minute delay on the price) and those that have a stop loss.

Still happy days, always nice to have some regular and decent dividends coming in. This is why we hold the most boring share in the world after all

Six weeks ago the share was 17pish. Have to admit if I'd bought in at that price and it was banging on the door of 22p, I'd have been tempted to cash this out. 20%+ gain. I can see it beginning to rise before the announcement on the 18th, if the market is expecting good results. I don't even think they need to be spectacular, I think we just need a dividend policy and some idea of the overall profitability of the new venture.

They always do that. Things like "Why Lloyds is the worst share ever and you should never buy" and next one down "Why I'd make Lloyds my number 1 stock buy this month."

I think mostly they write these things to justify why they haven't picked them, to be fair to them, SYN is fairly risky and isn't the sort of thing they would usually recommend. They write about the popular stocks a lot, Argo *****ain gets a few articles a week, all the time saying they are really risky and wouldn't buy.

Their advice is basically buy National Grid and Unilever. Also you should probably invest in stock photos of Warren Buffet.

I doubt this government will do much to lessen this house buying boom, they'll probably drag on these schemes indefinitely but always with the worry it'll end soon to keep demand going. End of the day, a housing boom is good for the economy. It adds to GDP generally, and rising house prices make people feel rich. My house has gone up £80k in about 7 years (was £165k), not a lot I can do with that, unless I cash in and live a rich but homeless life. But it's good for the economy, it also gets people out of the sub prime mess we were in a decade or so ago.

Are house price rises good for HBs? I'd say they are, OK bricks might be more expensive, but that isn't really what creates the value in a house is it? It's pure demand. I'm not sitting here, whooping it up because the 20 tons of bricks in my house are now 50% more valuable.

Truth is, it'd be the only real penny stock in the FTSE100 when it gets there. I know Lloyds is a penny stock, but I'm sure it wasn't at some point. Is it easier administration as well? I'm not sure. I don't think it massively matters one way or the other but it is probably easier than declaring dividends to the 100th of a penny.

Although it is near $70, it's not *really* near $70 is it? It's being kept above $60 by OPEC reducing demand with an aim of keeping the oil price at a level where everyone makes some money but not getting so high that everyone else starts drilling for oil and bringing new oil fields. If it gets up above $70, I'd imagine that OPEC will increase production. Genuine demand (where its $140 because everyone is desperate for oil) is a long way off.

It'll certainly rise, I guess when we start getting some decent results coming through.

Not to insult people here, but you do understand how the stock market works right? The company is currently for sale, it can be had for £1.63 a share.

Could someone wait until it hits £10 a share and then buy it, they could, but why? The directors themselves don't own many shares themselves, they couldn't block it. If GSK came along, I'd imagine the government would help it along even, good of humanity, etc.

Seen it happen too many times before, certainly if this is the miracle cure, easily £10 a share worth, but it's whether it gets to that.

Presumably we cannot continually keep locking down for ever. We were working towards the vaccines that will save us, but that seems far from assured it'll do the levels it needs to make COVID not a thing. We will get better and more advanced vaccines, etc.

But it would seem with new variants (that the government can't seem to be bothered keeping out) then this is around to stay. So we need the vaccines and we need better treatments as well. So if vaccines can reduce the hospitalisations by 70% (say) and treatments can reduce deaths by 70%, then we will just sort of go back to normal.

Either way, seems that a treatment that works will have decent long term potential.

My personal view - this will get bought out for about £3 a share, we will make a decent profit but also be really annoyed that a potential 1000% return is a 100% return (for me anyway). The board will keep good jobs and cash in their stocks. It's happened to me a couple of times now.

Agreed (15:51), I guess there will be a slow downward trend on this as not a lot happens. The reddit brigade will get bored (if they haven't already) and move onto the next get rich quick scheme. Might be a bit of news coming up, so we might see a few gains. I'll just be averaging myself down for a while as I get a few dividends and the like from my other shares.

I don't get it either. All I can think is that people build up unrealistic expectations, when they expect the worst from M&S and it isn't as terrible as they feared. So extremes both sides. Also if a company does well with the pandemic, they seem to think it won't possibly last, that we're all sitting eating bags of sugar at home, and after the lockdown we will eat Percy Pigs, or something.

Yeh sounds like they're just talking about something else. Like a drug you can take to reduce your chance of getting it when you've come into contact with someone with it, or start reducing symptoms. Ours is something for those who are pretty ill I think.

Still got to be positive for us, vaccines and now treatments.

Pretty pleased with a 1% rise today, expected a bit of a dip after the good results yesterday.

How is that a good business model? Charging a lot of money for something a company could easily do themselves?? OK might not be worth it for some of the restaurants, but can't see the big companies they've signed up chucking over 35% for very long. A lot of them have been caught out by the pandemic, but I think they'll begin to sort themselves out and cut out Deliveroo.

Can easily see Mcdonalds offering up their own service, their app is pretty good

theBoyg - Absolutely nothing wrong with selling out IMO. Not doubting it might be worth £10 one day, but in reality you're taking an educated guess that could easily go the other way. Is there huge amounts of profit in this? I think yes, and have used the recent price drops to average down myself, I need 2p more to turn a profit on these. I'll certainly keep them longer though and if there are more dips then maybe average down some more.

You could well be kicking yourself in 12 months, or have done OK. Presumably you've made a decent profit there, 40% based on your figures, I'd call that a decent return (depending how long you've held for)

Just got told what it will be on Freetrade. Basically if you have less than 20 you’ll get cash and then it’ll be exchanged. Be warned, when it changed from Premier we lost access to shares for a while. As in a few days. Hopefully won’t be the same but they’ve made clear they’ll need to wait to get my new shares

Agreed, need to wait for results and dividend and people to dump shares. Also it depends when you bought in, these shares were 17p a few weeks ago. So not unlikely a few might be cashing in a quick win.

Decent dividend announcement and some decent profits then this will begin to move.

Just jumped nearly a penny, seems a bit of jump for not a lot going on
