Sorry, I meant this… basically the fraction of the company each shareholder owns would reduce by 39%. However in reality the value of the company will be more after a fundraise as they’re able to to continue business. Right now it’s valued to fail, due to fear and the unknown. Positive news won’t be far away though I’m quite sure.
• Before: Genedrive has 624,895,408 shares in issue.
• If they issue 400,000,000 new shares, the total becomes 1,024,895,408.
• The new shares’ slice of the enlarged pie is 400,000,000 ÷ 1,024,895,408 ≈ 39%.
• So every existing holder’s ownership % shrinks by ~39% (you keep the same number of shares, but each one represents a smaller slice: your % becomes ~61% of what it was). For example, if you owned 1.00% before, after the full 400m issue you’d own ~0.61%.
