Thank you Mulder for the link to today's Analyst article and also for the year comparisons you posted. Tell you what, i feel so much better than i did earlier today. It's unbelievable that 2017 figures will be roughly the same as the previous year but a year ago the SP was double today's SP. If the Analyst is correct and it eventually recovers to 2200p then i will treat the wife to a five star holiday. At the moment she is blissfully unaware of my losses on this share as i am too scared to mention it to her.

Thank you Ultrashort for an update on the Analyst meeting. Obviously pleased that it has recovered a bit from this mornings lows but I'm still in a state of shock. I honestly thought that the SP would actually go up at the start of trading because of the bad news already built in to the SP. Just shows you what i know.

The Analyst meeting must be going well - - not. I can't believe the reaction to the H1 results. The SP had already fallen by 40% in a few months and now we get a further 12% fall on nothing worse than flat revenue and a very small drop in profit. What on earth is going on here? Hikma being taken over or going private is now the only hope we have to recover our losses.

All we need at the Analyst meeting is for the CEO to stick a couple of twigs up his nostrils and shout out we're doomed at the top of his voice. On second thoughts, given the illogical way in which the stock market works it may actually help the SP. Seriously i hope there may be a live feed on the YouTube as it will be interesting.

Hi NewGuy, You just beat me to it. Re-read the statement and saw it mentioned at the very bottom. Incidentally, net debt was reduced by £60M and not £40M as i previously stated.

The share price should rise considerably today because the company is performing well despite all the pessimistic views that have dragged the SP down. Here are the basics Core profit +5% Core operating profit +3% Revenue +5% Operating profit - 2% Basic earnings per share +15% Net debt reduced by about £40M Projected full year revenue £2Billion 75 new products introduced. There was no mention of progress on Advair Generic but despite that there is absolutely no reason that the SP should be so depressed. I reckon the SP will quickly recover to around the 1600 to 1700 level. It should never have fell below that in the first instance.

Numis have issued an add rating with a target price of 1560p. This along with Barclays (2200p) and Morgan Stanley (1600p) will hopefully help reverse the decline. Of course, the main catalyst for movement will be the interim statement due from Hikma next Thursday so fingers crossed for some positive news.

Hi Intervest, excellent post. I was wondering if perhaps the CEO was spotted on a park bench sobbing uncontrollably while clutching an up to date sales report. That's the only explanation i can think of for the dramatic fall in SP. The interim statement (17th August) will need to be pretty dam bad for the SP to fall further. Now resigned to treating my holding as if it's a 3 year fixed rate bond. I do believe that this share price will eventually recover, it would help if they started to get more new drugs approved and even better if the Generic Advair applicator was resubmitted and subsequently approved by the FDA.

Great Post. I agree with everything you have said. It's simply baffling why the share price has fallen so steeply. I do think it will recover a bit tomorrow but with this share logic doesn't apply.

Heavy trading today 1.3M shares. Buy/Sell about 50/50. I don't really want to tempt fate but should recover a bit tomorrow unless there is an underlying problem that most of us are unaware of. Still can't find any obvious reason for such a big fall.

This share is so volatile that you can end up being the biggest idiot on the planet or a financial genius in the space of a couple of days or even a couple of hours. Barclays have a target price of 2200p but that just seems like a pipe dream to me unless they become subject to a takeover bid. Guess, we'll just have to see how things pan out.

Just bought back the shares i sold at 1440p for 1390p. Will hold them for as long as it takes to make a decent profit.

Just sold half my shares (£24,000) at 1440p (Bought at 1479p). I don't normally sell shares at a loss but I'm so used to the price falling back i thought I would cover myself this time. Still have shares bought at 1749p and 2020p so I'll be holding them for a while. If the price does fall back to sub 1400p then i will almost certainly buy back in. Time will tell.

There was a lot of big sells after closing so i suspect the SP will fall again sharply in the morning but hopefully will recover again later on in the day. It's very frustrating because every time it looks like the tide has turned it starts to fall again. Nothing much we can do about it except keep holding the shares until Hikma gives the market a good reason to start buying again.

Anyone who says they get things right all the time are not being truthful. Having said that, i am the exception to that rule as i am always right and never moan.

Thank goodness that Morgan Stanley have stated a SP of 1600. Others will take notice of this and indeed it has done a lot to reverse much of this mornings SP slump. Hopefully Shorters will start to look elsewhere and allow this SP to get back to where it really should be - - imo c. 1800 As for Noggers, i don't really think you are cut out for dealing in shares. If i was you i would sell now, take a small profit and put your money into a savings account that will not fluctuate as shares inevitably do.

I had another look at the interim statement released just 6 weeks ago. The failure to get FDA approval (Generic Advair) was taken into account and sales revenue for the following year was revised downward by approximately £150M (NB. This is projected sales and not profit). All sales and profits in the Branded, injectables and Generic were expected to stay in line with 2016 or show single figure growth. R&D spending will increase and cost pressures were largely being cancelled out by efficiency savings thus protecting profits. Recent acquisitions (integration) were going well and a good new product pipeline was in place and this will guarantee sales growth in the future. It's not the best company statement I have ever seen but it is definitely a million miles away from the worst ever produced. No profit warnings have been announced and yet the SP has taken an absolute hammering. On the plus side, quite a few more shares were bought today than sold so hopefully we will see a rise tomorrow and beyond. Anybody feeling a bit down on this share should have a look at the company website where you will be reminded that it is far from being a basket case.
