The Elephant certainly didn't need any help going down the hill. There's far more upside than downside so i think you're right. I can wait until next spring and pick up another dividend payment for my patience.

Hikma have just announced a new product (Pantoprazole Sodium) which has sales of just over 104 Dollars Million. This will help fill a supply shortage in the USA. Share price has risen on the news. At last, some good news starting to come out from Hikma. May make the Shorters think twice now. Keep the good news coming through please Hikma so we can recoup some of our losses.

Thanks Starryp for the link. I didn't know that Hikma even had a venture capital arm. It's a really interesting article and it seems that Hikma are being really progressive and investing a lot of time and money in exploring different avenues in which to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Hikma Pharmaceuticals. Bods well for the future--i just wish it would register with the fund managers who seem hell bent on dragging the company down.

You're absolutely spot on with your assessment of Hikma. The SP is practically the same as the asset value of the Company. If anyone was to start a Pharmaceutical company and aim for exactly the same infrastructure that Hikma has at the moment they would find it impossible to do so for less than £5Billion and it would also take many, many years to achieve. Imagine the work that needs to be done in developing goodwill with suppliers, distributors, trading partners and end users. Locating and building distribution /Research centres, developing new drugs, finding the best Chemists and research Scientists etc etc. For this reason i believe the bottom has now been reached and the Shorters are really just squeezing the pips now.

Outofideas---I can relate to what you have went through as i have 2638 shares averaged at c.1650. I'm sorry that you missed out on todays late rally but this will probably be cancelled out again tomorrow. I hope you still visit this site and continue to post comments and i wish you all the best with any investments you make elsewhere. Hikma do have a strong balance sheet and will not be going bust any time soon. At worst sales and profit is flatlining. They are actually in a far better state than many companies whose SP is holding steady or rising. As I've said before, if you can imagine that it is a long term savings account it is much easier to cope with daily fluctuations. As Mulder correctly points out there is always a chance of a private buyout or takeover / merger. The slightest whiff of this will send the SP soaring. The lower the SP goes the higher the likelihood of this happening - - every cloud etc etc.

Said and Mazen Darwazah enjoyed a combined Remuneration package of £9.7 Million last year. The projected figure for 2017 is £8.4Million (13% reduction). Meanwhile the SP has more than halved during the last 12 months and Hikma fell out of the Ftse100. Sometimes i wonder if companies would be any worse off by going to the local zoo, picking a couple of Chimpanzees, dress them up in designer suits and give them them full autonomy in the running of the business. How could they do any worse..???? Perhaps i'm being a touch unjust but this is how it feels to me at the moment and i reckon i'm not the only one. It's about time the Directors started to communicate a bit more with Shareholders and inject a bit more positivity into the business. We still have no idea about Advair and any other drugs that may be in the pipeline.

With my luck if I sold my shares then about 10 mins later Hikma would probably announce that they have FDA approval for a wonder drug that not only is a cure for the common cold but also offers eternal youth.

You're absolutely right. Every time i start to make positive comments the SP slumps--sods law. At the risk of causing another slump if the buying does continue then the SP should start to recover. Really can't understand today's fall because as far as i can make out nothing has happened that would merit it. Fortunately, i am in the frame of mind that these are a long term hold.

I believe the SP has risen recently due to the drug shortage in the US caused by the Manufacturing plants in Puerto Rico being seriously affected by the infrastructure damage caused by the recent hurricanes. Hikma doesn't have manufacturing plants in the Caribbean and are therefore able to take advantage of the shortages on the many drugs that they can offer their own alternatives. For this reason the November statement is not going to report anything less than increased sales and margins. The markets recognise this hence the recent strong SP performance.

Your physic abilities leave a lot to be desired (lol). I predict normal service will be resumed on Monday, ie today's gains will be cancelled out - - hope I'm wrong.

I know that Deutsch bank have increased their holding in Hikma from 5% to 7% with two transactions (second one was on Friday). I assumed that was the reason for the rise but i sincerely hope the real reason is what you have suggested. If Hikma do get Advair approval then the SP will undoubtedly increase significantly over a short period of time and of course the Shorters will ply their trade elsewhere thus giving the SP another boost. It's time we started to get good news on this company especially after what we have went through over the last 6 months.

Little consulation i know but the Dividend is paid tomorrow. The best thing to do now is treat this share as a 2 year savings bond (dividends = interest) I keep trying to avoid looking at the SP but curiosity always gets the better of me and it inevitably spoils the rest of my day. Ironically, the company is financially sound, making good profits with high profit margins. To put it into perspective, Morrisons annual profit is roughly the same as Hik but they need sales of £18Billion to achieve it against Hikmas £3Billion. There's always the possibility of a takeover bid sometime in the future (hopefully near future). My average is around £16.50 (2638 shares) so there's no way i'm selling at this price. Sentiment will eventually change and the SP will rise again, i'm quite sure of it.

I notice that there were 516,000 sold and 1,000,000 bought today. There was also 1.2m traded (off book), more likely to be purchases rather than sells at today's SP. I wonder were the SP will go tomorrow - - no predictions from me this time because i normally get it completely wrong but it should be interesting.

Really pleased to see a strong recovery over the last few days. The Shorters will be abandoning this Company in their droves now and looking elsewhere. I believe the SP will continue to rise due to H1 results not justifying the dramatic 40% decline we experienced over the last few months, new partnership agreements, more aggressive pricing, increasing manufacturing capacity and the fact that brokers are now setting target prices well above the current SP. I hope the Directors now buy some shares because that would really send a message to the fund managers. I still have a bit to go to recover my original investments but hopefully this will happen a lot sooner than i had invisaged just a week ago.

I would like to second that - - - great post Mulder. I have C. 2550 shares and my average is probably around the 1600p mark. Yesterday the fall affected me greatly but rather weirdly i wasn't bothered at all about today's drop. Mentally, i am now treating these shares as a long-term investment.

This share is obviously being manipulated to artificially get the SP down as low as possible before the feeding frenzy starts. Fortunately i am using funds that i do not need at short notice so i am going to try and ignore it for a while and let the SP recover to where it should be (1700 - 1800).Might take a few weeks, a few months or a year or so but it will get there eventually.
