Yes @ EV_Bull I agree although the two appointments at IRIS in July did coincide with a price rise so maybe the connection with Piedmont was a factor, I haven't looked in detail but Levi Mochkin has a good record of raising cash:

According to the US Government, the USMCA region could become a leading lithium-producing region since it has over 13.7 million t of lithium in different deposits across the subcontinent. The region may not surpass South America but could easily surpass Asia in the production of the mineral.

Mexico seeking alliance with Argentina, Bolivia and Chile to share experiences regarding exploitation of lithium, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Tuesday.

I think their experience shows the reliance on the Chinese expertise in South America and of course that's clearly the case and furthermore evident with CATL landing the development of Bolivia's lithium industry this week.

Back to today, I don't believe the outcome with Ganfeng has gone in his favour and yes the contradictory messages are likely a sign of that but perhaps now he will want to see a quick result with money coming into the economy - hopefully those talks last week involved the possibility for foreign investment in our JV concessions.

I'm sure more will become apparent in coming days, and it would make sense that Ganfeng will provide processing for other mines as well as being able to fulfil existing off-takes with exporting lithium as part of any agreement.

One year delay and his term ends July 2024 so for his legacy things need to happen soon.

It can't be long before KDNC are called upon to discuss the JV's with the interest in the Sonora plan reported this week, I would imagine the position with any possible investment in the concessions would have been a point of discussion.

Nothing in terms of KDNC being an acquisition target would surprise me just based on the potential in Sonora let alone the other assets.

Such short term potential could be unlocked with a single RNS.

The Chinese are still in Badiraguachi and, although they are discreet, it has emerged that they have plans to start production in 2023 and expand in 2024. Their investments in Sonora are valued at 420 million dollars. They are the largest on the Mexican lithium map.
