This description of processing just seems to suggest to me that it will be expensive and perhaps slow?

The PFS projects Rhyolite Ridge to be a very low-cost lithium producer at US$1,796/tonne of lithium carbonate (with boric acid credit) - placing it at the bottom of the industry cost curve.

I don't believe the article compares like for like, extraction costs v global market sales prices.

$2180 is cheap but Ioneer in the US are talking $1800.

Chinese gov say the Chinese have perfected a method of extracting Lithium for 2200 dollars, looks like they had a problem with brines and magnesium impurities, Simon Moores has mentioned that issue recently!

The US are pushing for US produced battery materials following on from last months Washington DC meetings, more meetings mid June.

Now I have seen claims of production costs in Nevada at under $1800/tonne but let's wait and see if these claims become evident.

I am confused with the article as it seems to compare the Chinese suggested extraction costs with global sales price per tonne?

A Chinese government report claims the new process has made the cost of extracting lithium 15,000 yuan (US $2,180) per ton. That’s a huge dropoff from standard international prices for lithium, which often range from $12,000 to $20,000 per ton.

They are looking to raise $6m but due to being an Aus company listed in Canada is taking a little longer for European investors to dot i's all should be complete in a couple or so but now they have $1M upfront from today's news.

The $1M investment shows confidence in the project and hopefully, the other investors will follow.

I was wondering how difficult it would be to extract lithium from the brines there because they are stated as being complex but AMBL seem to think they have a process that's quick and effective:

On October 16, 2018 ABMC signed a Joint Venture agreement with CINC Industries, Inc. for exclusive rights to its battery metals extraction technology in the U.S.

It is well known in the industry that extracting lithium from brines is much more cost efficient than extracting lithium through hard rock mining. The issue with lithium brine extraction historically is that it requires evaporation ponds to remove the liquid water from the lithium brines, which can take 18 months to achieve. CINC’s centrifugal technology has the potential to reduce the 18-month processing time to one week or less.
