Sky news drama queen Ed Conway just saying without that intervention by BOE some pension funds would have been gone by this afternoon.

My gut feeling is the UK markets are on the brink of a crash.
We're no longer being influenced by the Dow or the Nas, most stocks are falling despite their fundamentals, despite precious metals and oil being up today, various stocks in those sectors falling.
It's chaos really.
It's either sell and crystallise paper losses or rude out the pending storm.
You've got Russia annexing the Donna's and feel they can use tactical nukes probably from Friday, you've got kamikaze and Trussless who may last the week at this rate, inflation, 1% imminent rise in interest rates, quite frankly its the perfect storm.
And to top everything off, a newly disclosed short.

I guess what I'm saying is that it is looking like our ftse companies are being solely priced on UK economics currently, so we are unlikely to benefit from any US bounce, however temporary.
I really wouldn't be surprised if there is short crash here caused solely by UK economic policy.
Could be good opportunities to come.

US markets well up today, oil up, precious metals up, and it is looking like the UK market is in its own bubble right now.
Even my tech stocks aren't picking up on the back of of the Nasdaq.

I really hope they don't turn round and announce they're paying down most of the debt with the monies received, but also have to do a RI to pay down the legacy issues and SFO monies.
Not to mention the litigation claim.
This is in the oil and gas sector and they're paid in dollars. Shouldn't be this weak imo.

I've been monitoring how this and PFC react to oil price movements in the absence of specific news.
What I've noticed is sometimes if oil turns positive there is a delayed reaction to the upside with both these SPs.
What is worrying today is that oil has been up all morning and this is 4%.
I'm restraining myself from topping anything up because given the drama and focus the news channels are now giving the markets, I wouldn't be surprised if there was some algo driven sell off causing a crash.
They can't leave it alone on sky news despite the pound being stable today, these media idiots will cause a crash imo.

Due a trading update in October , should be positive based on actual business operations and currency conversion.

I did the same yesterday on the first North America revenue, compared to what it was at the time.
Far more pounds in revenue from the US.
Maybe that's why it's held up quite well recently.

Some are suggesting the BOE intervene with an emergency rate rise as soon as next week.

Plus they are debt free, seems a no brainer to me long term, unless it gets taken out by the US when there is parity on the currencies.

Oh dear, personally I'm writing of my investment now.

There was a 2 hour difference between AWE and DARK, the former tanked about 12.30.
Just seems like the sort of drop you would get after a profit Warning, really unsettling.
But if the trades after 4.30 on the other board are accurate, there seems to be sustained buying reported after hours.

Something known by the city imo, not enough volume for such a sharp fall.

Seems like an easy company with low volume to short, despite decent results, hence JPMorgan declaring over 0.5% on 2nd September.
Just doesn't add up 13% drop in 2 days.

CPI tends to hold up well on down days these days.
