3 x the dividend drop today, what an effing joke

I'm just talking hypothetically and what the market is currently saying.

I'm still trying to work out what cosmens goal is?

They recently added 1% so its fair to assume they're throwing money away as far as they're concerned.

They have ploughed in significant amounts so are more than likely to be opposed to dilution.

Would banks/bond holders allow them to take out Alsa on the cheap, is that their goal plan?

Or would creditors ensure that the maximum amount is obtained for say Alsa?

I just cant see how they could grab it for a few hundred million leaving creditors still underwater.

So working through the above possibly their recent 1% buy is a reassuring addition.

Totally agree its just irrational weirdness.

Same going on with another of mine TRN, they've upgraded guidance the last 2 updates, enhanced the buyback, and sp keeps falling.

No wonder global investors and pensions refuse to invest in UK stocks.

Of course, if the auditor issue remains ... the closer they get to being suspended maybe?

Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing, get this total mess sorted once and for all, stop the constant decline,,and even possibly there is sone clause that works in their favour regarding Germany, ie leaving the contract, forcing a resolution, its been 2 years of talks and no agreement, essentially its a large part of the issue dragging this down.

Been trying to comprehend the mindset of cosmens, recently adding another 1 %, can only be three reasons, one he's sure its not money down the drain and just adding, two he's lowering his average, and three he's manoeuvring to be able to take Alsa for as little as possible if it goes into administration.

Question for anyone, if this went into administration, would the banks/ bond holders ensure that Alsa is sold for top dollar, therefore preventing it from going to him cheaply, despite his majority holding?

I've always felt that Cosmens is and has been the biggest obstacle for this company, almost being run as a private company.

Waiting for something positive to release at the same time as a q3 TU is just typical of how this company operates, and is the sort of procrastinating radio silence that is embedded in their failing culture.

It would seem that nothings changed their, what an awful company.

Dont think adjusted ebitda of 177 down from 191 a few weeks ago is priced in. Lower than guidance from October.

Yeah that's my concern too, shorters piling in, no BOD buys, one of the large shareholders reducing, it begs the question what do they all know?

I know, all my ftse 100 shares are down, just don't get it, eg relx, bunzl, compass, this, and besides with the exception of bunzl, the others are performing exceptionally well given the macro circumstances. And you've got Aim casino shares flying. Says it all about the state of the UK market in general.

Well all I can say is, here we are, 259 after a double upgrade in guidance.

They never usually do a TU between HY and full year, last year was an exception.

It's exactly that lack of comms previously that annoyed me, amongst other things.

Upgraded guidance twice in 2 months and we are lower than before the update in September.

Possibly a dividend and buybacks are needed

This is exactly why investing in UK companies under this government is a waste of time.
