No company mining veined gold is able to produce a Jorc compliant estimate simply because it isn't possible to quantify the gold present from exploratory drilling, as it occurs sporadically. Though by the same token how could the previous comment that there could be up to 500,000 ozs of gold in the area be taken seriously?

I have to agree Divermike, with Groc's Mcap struggling to support anything but minor raises, I would have thought any Alba spare cash should go towards helping to keep Groc buoyant. Following the downfall of Northvolt's attempt at creating an integrated EV battery business, that should have prompted Alba to do what it can to protect its own investment in Groc rather than go chasing rainbows elsewhere. Northvolt's strategy of spreading itself too thinly and trying to expand too fast should cause GF to sit and think about his plans for Alba. IMO

I haven't clung on to my shares like a limpet this last 6-8 years just to accept peanuts. If we are sitting on a 20% share of one or more tier 1 mines then we should at least be worth $ several hundred million, small change to AA. Don't let the naysayers planted on this board just for the purpose of managing expectations downwards steer you towards accepting a cheap offer.

Just keep adding where you can on the dips (sincere thanks to the moaners for spending hundreds of hours of their time in helping to bring us cheaper top ups) because sooner or later this will pop (and we have the staged AA payments to keep us afloat while we wait)

well, it's **** or bust time for george. either clogau has given up copious amounts of gold enabling him to feel free to go on a hunt for similar overlooked and undervalued projects or else he's scrabbling around to divert attention from a poor prognosis on the welsh gold prospects. hero or zero? the jury's out for now but to my mind three target projects in quick succession points to desperation and a leaning towards the big fat zero scenario.

The grades seem a little underwhelming IMO and given that it's in Africa and we already have enough on our plate, I'd be inclined to give it a miss.

SeisNav - Thanks for your technical input over months/years, it has definitely helped me to remain firm in my investment. I was a little surprised to see that the intervals of copper mineralisation in Botswana are only of the order of 4-6m, I had expected more given that MMG paid $1.9bn for the licences. Are these intervals representative of the rest of their license area or am I missing something?

I would be surprised and delighted if rock surrounding the quartz veins contained several ozs per tonne of gold in anywhere but sporadic locations. Otherwise why did the old time miners chase veins at historical average of only 17gms/tonne? If gold was plentiful in non quartz rock then they would have just bulk mined all the rock down there. Historical records only mention scattered occurrences of difficult to find gold.

"Bit nothing update" ? Some people won't be happy unless they stumble upon King Solomon's mines down there.

I'm seriously hoping that things behind the scenes at Clogau and Groc are far rosier than they are able to convey at the moment, allowing them to feel free to raise and spend like a drunken sailor.

They do seem to be in an inordinate hurry to splash the cash, not even waiting for an expected s/p rise following the coin auction.

Ocelot, I agree that the dilution is only around 10% but with the placing price being at 0.03p, the s/p will necessarily gravitate towards that level. It remains to be seen whether any of the prospects they are looking to buy into turn out to be inspired investments or not, but to my mind it would be more prudent to get the Welsh gold up and running and contributing to the coffers before chasing rainbows elsewhere. And yes it would inspire more confidence if the BoD dipped into their pockets to invest in meaningful amounts rather than the unremarkable amounts they have chipped in so far.

Though I have them on filter, I find it encouraging that a whole group of people deem it necessary to devote their lives to trying to undermine sentiment here. If Arcm were fated to be a failed enterprise it would happily go under on its own with no need of a gang of knockers trying to pull the rug from under it. It did look for a while like they were succeeding but sentiment has begun to rise again. I think they should bring in a new team or at least try to bolster their mediocre efforts with some experienced old school whingers like China Blue.

I hope her numbers are correct, I lost a little faith in the article as she kept referring to graphite as being a metal.
