Once it became obvious the Singida and no-hedging strategies were going to be huge successes, they could all smell a big payday. That is, after all, what they are all in it for. Once these executives get the smell of that big payday in their nostrils, their true colours come out and it is like the Hunger Games until the buyout.

I worked for a small, successful AIM-listed company that eventually got bought out by a big fish. The last couple of years were a massive carve-up between the major shareholders and the executives in the in-crowd. It was a cat-fight in the executive, anyone that got in the way was out, bought off. That is all we are witnessing here.

I think it is sneaky to get a CEO to back a bid and issue him huge share options months after he was due to have left the company.

If they are going to up the bid for 28th, don't we need a new vote today?

If they succeed in blocking this completely we are going to need them to boot out the board.

They have also moved from 'We have a great relationship with the Tanzanian government' to 'jurisdictional and geopolitical risk'. Either they were lying to us then or they are lying to us now

Well, our Shanta CEO has been saying for years that the gold price is going 'much much higher', but now our board would have us believe that now is a good time to exit with gold at all time highs .
