Imho this is classic tortoise and hare when it comes down to it. Long-term holders who've done their due diligence understand the long-term case. I for one am happy to hold and add on dips as that suits my risk appetite. Just a difference in strategy.
I have time for traders who are open about their intentions and perspective so long as they keep it honest and respectful. When we share information on that basis it can be beneficial for both.
Didi888, don't be panic stricken. I know it's been a rough ride of late, but DARK is a good long-term hold, patience and research is required. I'd be very wary of taking on other volatile stocks on the advice of others without your own in-depth research. GL.
Great to see this board clear of green filter boxes and with good, researched information being shared again. I've said it before and will restate it for the record: the PH analysis was deeply flawed and highly suspicious.
Cheers Barcap. PH were embroiled in th e Autonomy case so both have connections with the company as such. The news on the R&D does support Berenberg. I'd rather listen to a knowledgeable Tea Lady than PH's Teaboy analyst anyhow. :-)))
Here's the translated text of the original story from ESPN Spain, from an interview with Darktrace's Eloy Avila. The actual attack happened months ago via employee emails and was clearly thwarted by Darktrace. A bit of clickbait from `The Scum' to coincide with the Mexican Gran Prix. An interesting insight into an important client relationship nonetheless.
`McLaren makes a modification to its car every 17 minutes, on average, during a Formula 1 season. This rate of innovation causes information, economic and business, which becomes the target of cybercriminals and causes attacks like the one that occurred months prior to the Mexican Grand Prix.
“Mclaren Racing was attacked by cybercriminals, we already know that F1 is one of the most innovative sports and yet they are attacked. The method is very common, in this case, several key employees, with access to highly confidential and valuable information, were attacked with a very realistic email, posing as a very reliable supplier of the brand ", said Eloy Ávila, representative of Darktrace, the company that protects McLaren, to ESPN Digital.
This attack could endanger the competition, both on the athletes 'and fans' side, because a cyber attack can have consequences even on the devices used to monitor the car during the race, such as the Grand Prix from Mexico.
“Not only e-mail is being protected, but the mobile networks on race day, those networks that send the information of the vehicles when they are running, in the race, and that may be important for competitors, these sensors are controlling and reviewing what happens in the car ”, acknowledged Eloy Ávila.
In the attack against McLaren, which has Landon Norris and Daniel Ricciardo as its drivers, months before the Mexican Grand Prix, an attempt was made to breach security through an email from a trusted provider, but the threat that It was aimed at senior officials of the British team.
"During an average week, more than 34,600 malicious e-mails directed at McLaren are detected and neutralized," reported the company that is dedicated to protecting the Formula 1 team.

Reader61, Darktrace do an excellent blog with many examples of how they've prevented such attacks and how their self-learning AI cybersec works in action. You can find it on the top menu on their website. Very much worth a read for anyone interested in the subject.
Gafg, Thanks, feel like I'm channelling my inner schoolteacher around here! I'm only just catching up on posts and it was abundantly clear to me who you meant. I suspect Bladerunner's not the only one viewing/posting through beer/wine-goggles at times. :-)))
Charles, please stop this talk about disturbed childhoods, it's deeply offensive. As I've tried to point out previously, you do sometimes make yourself a target for criticism by posting too much. Far more productive to refute that criticism directly.
PussyG and Beryl are right, you can be critical without making personal attacks. Let's try to rise above and be a bit kinder.
Didi posted this article earlier and it's worth a push-up: https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/965175/darktrace-is-increasingly-more-competitive-says-jefferies-965175.html
`A closed loop with a self-learning, self-healing network that can dynamically adapt with each component feeding and improving the next'.
Imagine for a minute the money lost by a company like Tesco's after the recent cyber-attack. In addition to the enormous cost of lost sales, there's loss of reputation, alongside lengthy time/analysis to address the attack, make safe and reinstall. Every hour costs dearly.
DARK's Self Learning AI already saves hours of human intervention. Closed loop protection would be a further huge leap forward and a HUGE selling point for clients - old and new - across the different sectors DARK already operates in, from critical infrastructure through to retail.
Covgilbs, welcome to the board. If you're just starting out, would advise you diversify your portfolio as much as possible, stay clear of AIM small caps until you're mmore experienced and do your research on the companies from legitimate sources. Unfortunately we have a lot of trolls playing on here at present due to the volatility, so be careful who you listen to. Good luck on your investing journey!
A good start is DT website and this link which HKK posted earlier: https://ir.darktrace.com/download/Darktrace_Investor_Fact_Sheet.pdf
Great find OnlyMee. For those of us who know their cybersec/tech it reaffirms why I've held strong here and added, even if it upped my average a bit. Lending got it spot on, this whole PH-led saga has a distinctly stage-managed whiff about it. Anyone who actually bothers to research what the company do, knows exactly why DARK is in the same league as Crowdstrike and Sentinel One.
Happy to see we've got some good new contributors inbetween the FUD merchants/green filter boxes. Staying away from the inevitable feeding frenzy of traders and trolls around here is recommended, much better for clear thinking. GLA
For new holders and nervy holders, with apologies to LTHs who know the drill already! :-)))
With sincere respect to the more professional traders here, your aims/knowledge differ from LTH. We've done the research on the tech, know the potential for growth and the value from that perspective. This pattern of volatility has played out before, and let's face it, no traders would be wasting their time here if they thought DARK wasn't going make them a BIG profit.
Personally I'm too busy to spend a whole day on here sparring with the troll-trading army and wading through FUD, so here's a handy copy and paste `Reasons to Invest/Hold'. And remember, if you don't like rollercoasters, jumping off mid-ride is a hiding to nothing. Feel free to repost if the noise gets too much:

Back in May Microsoft and Darktrace announced their partnership on AI-enhanced cloud security:
https://www.itpro.co.uk/technology/artificial-intelligence-ai/359473/microsoft-partners-with-darktrace-on-ai-enhanced
`Darktrace were the first to apply unsupervised machine learning to the challenge of detecting threatening digital activity within corporate networks, with the aim of combatting novel cyber attacks that bypass rule-based security tools.'
`The multiple layers of machine learning that make up Darktrace’s Cyber AI, and how they are architected together to create an autonomous, system that self-updates, responding to, but not requiring, human input.'
This is just a few bits of news I've pulled. I don't need to ramp DARK, it's easy enough to do the research. The muppets trying to panic holders into selling too cheaply know this is worth a lot more.

Ishi, DARK have been pretty clear about working on R&D and sales so far have exceeded expectations, so I see no problem in either respect. Quite excited about the prospect of them applying their self-learning AI architecture on privacy SaaS as that's a hot issue with Facebook whistleblowers and Pegasus software.
I would hate to see us sold Stateside in many ways, but it's a distinct possibility, especially from Microsoft who are already partners and who are looking to move more in that direction. We have the biggest cloud companies backing us between them and AWS, so recent events really are just a sh*tty sideshow to the main event for LTHs.
I've set a buy order, but largely intend to stay off here until the clowns move on.
Sensible ChefMarco. :-) I had a top up @650 and will keep a watch tomorrow with an eye to picking up more. It's a win-win situation for long-term holders, but I'm genuinely sad for those who listen to the noise and panic-sell.
I don't believe any trader has a crystal ball, though plenty speak enough b*ll*cks when they're trying to get holders to panic sell. Nasty way to make money imo.
