PYX Resources: Achieving volume and diversification milestones. Watch the video here.
If it follows the pattern of previous, there'll be a drop which will be absorbed fairly quickly. However the situation with DARK has changed considerably since then, a lot less risk, so I doubt any drop will be so big. Just imho. :-)
Marna, long-term I think you'll be okay here. It depends on the size of your holding, if you'll need the cash in the immediate future etc. Looking at the economic backdrop, things do look likely to get rockier before they get better, which tends to bring a lot of market volatility. In my experience, no shares are immune if/when that happens.
A profit will always feel better than sitting on a loss in my experience and Seaking said similar recently. Unfortunately, none of us can predict what will happen (unless you're Charles apparently, LOL). I feel happier with keeping my core holding and selling/buying back outside of that. Even though I would have realised more profit today, the bigger holding I had was causing me to lose sleep fretting over a potential market crash/long fall. I've also sold a few riskier holdings recently because of that.
Obviously we all have different situations, so maybe try to take the emotion out of your decision. If you sell out at profit, even if DARK doesn't fall to that level again, there are always other opportunities.
Interesting Nidec, I've been watching ONT too with a view to buying in, suspected it would drop after the initial rush. I'm looking to get in slighter lower still, ever the bargain hunter! :-))) Long term ONT appears a no brainer, but do want to look into their competitors more.
Hi Marna, In the immediate future I think it may continue past £10 soon (before falling back a bit) as buyers will look at the broker forecast and see fair value. There's always a surge with a lot of publicity and I think more people are seeing the potential here too. Long-term, I think this will far exceed the current SP. I believe this because of the strong and ambitious management, the increasing drive towards SaaS, IoT and the Cloud for business which is set to grow exponentially.
From my own perspective, I intend to keep my core holding, but will sell the amount I hold outside that to realise some profit if it hits near to £10 and hope to use that to buy back more cheaper. :-)
How about you Marna, how are you viewing your holding here?
Getafgrip, Cheers for the heads-up on trading updates. Totally agree, management has been exemplary here to date, something I always look for in a holding. It's very reassuring for the long-term. :-)
Thanks Stocksurfer, totally missed that release today.
For the unaware, AWS and Microsoft are two of the largest cloud service providers. AWS currently hold over 31% of the global cloud market share which is set to grow exponentially.
At a basic level it's a great acknowledgement that both have chosen to collaborate with and praise DARK, but in addition, as with the Microsoft collaboration, it's an excellent selling point for potential clients.
Here's where it get even more interesting: as I posted on the 6th October, there's a big ongoing competitive spat between Amazon and Microsoft over a $10 billion Pentagon contract to be decided soon. Microsoft snatched AWS top exec Charlie Bell to head it's new cloud cybersec strategy and are pouring money into the sector: https://www.businessinsider.com/charlie-bell-microsoft-cybersecurity-amazon-partners-strategy-2021-9?op=1&r=US&IR=T
Whoever wins that contract, can't help thinking there must be a very good chance DARK could be involved?!
AWS is Amazon Web Services, Microsoft's big competitor in that massive Pentagon contract. Not seen any previous mention of a collaboration there... fascinating. Good find Grotty! Must do some digging later when I have time. :-)
Getafgrip & Lending, Thanks for thoughtful replies. Agree, Dark continues to be an exciting and interesting share, certainly plenty to keep us guessing until our hopefully stunning update. :-) I'm greatly looking forward to that, while keeping a wary eye on the general market volatility. GLA!
Hi Lending, I have 28th October in my notes for the end of lockup period? Unfortunately, not sure where I got that date from, but think it was the IPO documents.
If Dark release a good update on sales (as Charles was told to expect), it could support the SP whether there's profit-taking or not. I can imagine the company are keen to avoid too much volatility, so that timing would make sense to me.
If not, I'm thinking we'll see a similar pattern to previously.
Ryan, Personally I'm glad you take the time to set the record straight with the regular derampers (of varying IDs). Imagine the picture painted for potential holderse if the regular wrecking boys sowed FUD here unchallenged.
Henry, agree it looks suspicious. Quite bizarre how many high-end server/configuration/network errors there's been recently and how quiet the media have been over cyberattacks? Some Anon accounts claimed the Facebook outage was an attack and we know many companies are concealing them now.
Either way, reputation-wise doubt it'll do Amazon Web Services any favours in their Pentagon contract war with Microsoft!
