The cancellation notice also says LFTs will still be an important part of gov response and hope to announce a further procurement notice in the near future.. shortly? Must be us lol.
Well it dies give Avacta more time without another flood of other LFTs in gov stockpile.
Nonetheless its time Avacta and AS got this over the line.
Sleepy I had said similar to the missus just last night. (Hello big D :) She is lurking this bb in the living room
If this goes into the 90s im selling a portion of other stocks to load up further.
Tbh I had thought that sentiment would slide this down a little while back, before the vaccine drop so sold 1/3 of my holding at the time, but have since bought back to the same level, still slightly underwater though.
Its been tough and a long slog so far but for me its all about personal risk and what I can afford to lose, I have a lot invested but still sleep easy as my life wont change if i lose the lot, but If this goes big .. well .. im thinking fast cars, fast women.. ahem just kidding dearest :)
AW you remind me of my supervisor many years ago.
He was a right billy no mates too, personallity of a limp lettuce.
When I was an apprentice he would come into the canteen with a post it note with vague site info for a job written on it.
He would quietly mumble enny menny minny mo to himself then stick the note to some lucky guys chest.
He woukd then take a massive inhalation through his huge beak then walk out without speaking.
Surprisingly he was married, unsurprisingly the wife left him, he fell out with his two kids. I remember him telling me he seen the two kids, teenagers, in the local shopping center and he proudly told me he just looked the other way and walked on.
All he ever talked about was his cat, in the end even the cat left him.
By any chance is your name Eddie AW?
Sadly I would be very surprised if the efficacy in vulnerable groups is half that of the figures being touted.
Look at oxford/AZ was it 65% and 90%?
It then became known that that the 90% study included no participants over the age of 55.
Thats a very high drop from 90 to 65%, if a third of the 65% trial participants were over 55 then they were responsible for 25% drop in the whole group.
In otherwords the vaccine in over 55s, if they were 1/3 of the participants, had an efficacy around 25% in this group.
I dont see much data from the other vaccines in the older more vulnerable population either so very concerning
There are the two super testing sites circa 600k tests a day to come, I would be surprised if BAMs were not part of it.
However we know Map were on the gov radar as well as BAMs and their test can test for flu, cold, antibody and covid, although they have said that any positive test could have a confirmatory PCR. So surely not the best for S&S compared with BAMs.
I had been thinking there is the possibility the Gov could equip these super testing sites with mostly Map for which will test for flu, cold, Covid AB, Covid AG, then do confirmation tests on any positive AG with our high S&S BAMS.
Or maybe MAP S&S will just not be good enough and Gov will go for all out with BAMs.
Or the lunatics in charge could just go with PCR or scrap the test sites altogether.
All speculation who knows really, but im sure we will have best in class tests eventually.
Great post Girlupnorth, thanks.
Scardey, there are already alernatives such as adhirons, Anticalins, aptamers, Darpins, nanobodiies etc.
However affimers are unique 'Due to their small size, Affimers can be employed to track single particles using super resolution microscopy, a feat that no other mimetic so far can perform. At a length of 2–3 nanometers, Affimers pose no challenges at resolutions of 20 nanometers or less in super resolution microscopy. Their diminutive size also allows them to penetrate the smallest vesicles and label the most elusive of antigens in tissue samples.'
Worth a read..

Dont forget precision is seperate from affimers, if ava6000 and the rest of the pro drug pipeline comes to fruition, that really will be an inflection point.
Also in the last AS video alister said ava6000 would start early Q2, I would imagine late Q3 early Q4 for results.
Sparta mate I think you are misunderstanding efficacy.
"90-95% efficacy - this is simply the % of people who don’t get ill/ show symptoms"
Its the difference between the two control groups, for example 10 ppl in placebo group catch covid, 1 person in vaccine group get covid means approx 90% efficacy.
So Oxford/AZ vaccine was 90% efficacy in the under 55s.
In a full age range group it was 62%.
If half these people were over 55 they must have averaged around 30% efficacy.
If it was less than half the efficacy would be even less.
That is hocking PL and if true that doesn't bode well at all.
Unfortunately Affimers have never been directly linked to Daewoongs DWRX2003 therapy.
Then again there is the key phrase "proprietary delivery technology " could be us? but I doubt it, I will believe it when I see it in an RNS.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical employed its proprietary delivery technology to repurpose oral niclosamide into a long-acting intramuscular injection, DWRX2003
Luke, Al did say they may need to tweak the protocol, whatever that means, after receiving feedback from the clinical evaluation.
I agree that any required tweak will surely not require re-evaluation, I just wish he would make these things clearer for us all.
Still clinical evaluation should complete quick enough from here, CE mark and sales will quickly follow.
How is it clueless to understand that a competitors MS test, which is known to also test for Flu, may be being validated? Especially when flu is also mentioned in Perdita Barrons tweet .
If ours BAMs does test for flu then Al really has been playing with the cards close to the chest, I seriously doubt it though as I have never seen or heard anything directly from Avacta that says such.
We know Avactas MS BAMS is being validated right now, surely we can accept that at least one competitor is being validated as well.
Map and Avactas tests are like apples and oranges both will have their place and our place will ultimately come down to hopefully stellar S&S.
Sorry if ive missed something but I have never seen mention of flu detection before with avactas bams test, happy to be corrected though.
Map test detects covid ab and ag, other coronavirus and cold/flu.
Map say it will be a great first screen supplemented with pcr test confirmation for any positives.
I imagine testing for so many targets and the lack of exquisitely specific affimers is the reason that its not being touted as a potential gold standard pcr rivaling covid test.
I can see both having a place in uk gov testing though.
The below comment from MAP CSO suggests that theirs may not be as good as our BAMs test, well at least not as good as we hope ours will be.
Prof Iles, who is chief scientific officer at MAP Sciences in Bedford suggests the test could be run quickly, cheaply and regularly to rule out Covid-19, or indicate its presence. Further more specific PCR testing could then be carried out if required on those who test positive.

Food for though Matt tbh thats as good a theory as any.
Whatever it is i think it must be a leak, too much of a rise for an advance notice of an rns.
Someone was giving out the prospectus on odx bb today and suggested that it was for "sophisticated investors" probably needing half a mill to invest.
