The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Third, trolling is a status-enhancing activity: by attracting readers’ attention, upsetting people, sparking heated debates, and even gaining approval from others, trolls can feel important, perhaps much more than they are in their real lives. Thus trolling is yet another internet activity that promotes narcissistic motives, since trolls may be expected to be far less successful in attracting people’s attention in the physical world. The only effective antidote to their tactics is to ignore them, but even then trolls won’t suffer a public humiliation because nobody knows who they are. This is what makes trolling so ubiquitous – it requires no skills other than the ability to be obnoxious.
Second, trolling – like other forms of computer-mediated communication – unleashes people’s impulses by providing anonymity and temporary identity loss. This phenomenon, called deindividuation, is well known to psychologists and has been found to emerge in several areas of interpersonal relations, such as gaming, role-playing and crowd behaviours, particularly hooliganism. Thus even when we are not naturally sadistic, trolling may bring out the worst side in us, by lifting the moral constrains and social etiquette that regulates our behaviour in normal situations, and by fuelling dissent and triggering abrasive reactions.
First, trolls are more likely to display noxious personality characteristics, that is, traits that impair one’s ability to build relations and function in a civilised or pro-social way. In a comprehensive examination of their psychological profile, trolls were found to be more Machiavellian (impulsive and charming manipulators), psychopathic (cold, fearless and antisocial), and especially sadist than the overall population. Trolls enjoy harming and intimidating others, so much so that the authors of this study concluded that trolls are “prototypical everyday sadists”, and that trolling should be regarded as online sadism. This is in line with the view of trolling as a form of cyberbullying.
Sterow funnily enough for them it's not negativity. They get genuine pleasure from what they are doing.
My policy now is to answer them back and then filter then. Nothing hurts them more psychologically than being ignored.
Btw you should feel free to be as harsh as you want because they don't feel what me and you feel. You have be vicious back just to have a minor effect on them hence some of my posts.
I stand by the fact that they all need to go get jobs!
Again what are you talking about? Have a read again:
Just to give you all a definition:
"An Internet troll is someone who comes into a discussion and posts comments designed to upset or disrupt the conversation. Often, in fact, it seems like there is no real purpose behind their comments except to upset everyone else involved. Trolls will lie, exaggerate, and offend to get a response."
I've just told you I've done my research through their prospectus and the market in general and you've done back with what?
Nobody got what they wanted at IPO. Obviously I applied for a lot more than £800 but I've made that clear.
I'm not even on this board to particularly defend the company. That's not my job. It's the people working there that need to provide the goods now.
From day 1 my issue has been the trolls. That's why I'm here to come back at you absolute idiots that think it's ok to do what you're doing.
I might not care about my £800 but to someone else here that could understanbly be a lot of more OR other could have a lot more invested who have to come on and read the bile you kretins post.
As long as you keep posting so will I. I see plenty of green on my screen. You're also going in the bin.
Go get a job!
It's not head in the sand. The reason you're a troll is because you have nothing to add to the debate. Your comments are based on nothing but share price movement. What relevance does the SP movement have after its first full week of TRADING when those who did their research know that nothing will be sold until Q3?
I invested because there will be a market for these products and IF CBX realise that market then I will make money.
IF they don't then I lose money. Not your problem.
I know what products are coming and when due to their prospectus. I know they are fully funded through the IPO. I know I got the same relative % at IPO as II's and most importantly I KNOW I NEED TO WAIT 18 MONTHS.
I have £800ish tied into this. I don't want to sound arrogant but the monthly payment on my cars is more than that.
Why do care what anyone does? Ask yourself why you get pleasure from what you're doing.
Grodan even though you're clearly a regular bellnd with a new name I'll entertain you.
Amazon started of just sellling books online hahaha. Anyone could have done that as well.
You need to try harder. Please see my previous posts on your kind. In the bin you go!
Easier said than done LimpingAlong I must admit.
Part of the reason I've taken such an issue with these people is due to understanding how disgusting it is that they derive pleasure from knowing others may be suffering. From day one they've ruined this board, literally from the minute it started so I had to join to fight back.
Just to give you all a definition:

Have a look trolls. Does the above sound like you???
Chances are if you're having to say you're not a troll, then guess what you are???
Haha. LimpingAlong feel no shame my friend - you're more than welcome to repost anything from my posts.
Really good one by SlowBurner I think it was earlier.
What is wrong with these people. They act like saviours but have nothing of substance or anything intelligent to say apart from how much of a mistake it is to buy into this. So what? Why do they care. It really is baffling.
This is a risky play and if I lose my money then so be it. That's my problem. Some of them keep going on about the dangerous ramping hahaha. What ramping. There are more posts pointing out the 'ramping' then there are of ACTUAL RAMPING!
Now some more info:
"... a study was published that confirms what we all suspected: Internet trolls are horrible people.
...
They conducted two online studies with over 1,200 people, giving personality tests to each subject along with a survey about their Internet commenting behavior. They were looking for evidence that linked trolling with the "Dark Tetrad" of personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism, psychopathy, and sadism.
They found that Dark Tetrad scores were highest among people who said trolling was their favorite Internet activity.
The next time you encounter a troll online, remember:
...
1. These trolls are some truly difficult people.
2. It is your suffering that brings them pleasure, so the best thing you can do is ignore them. "
I should take point 2 as advice myself. It's very hard not to engage with them. I've thrown most I'm the green bin but I'll keep posting information until they all go away :-)
The above is from a Canadian study btw.
Exactly. You cannot judge it after 5 days. I like you don't know what will happen. They might never make it to market for all we know. I do know they are fully funded and that's a big thing in this game. They have a small team and from my research they know what they are doing. Only time will tell now.
Exactly Aim.
Trolls as I like to call them on this board are here because:
1. Jealous they missed the IPO.
2. Upset they didn't sell on the spike after getting in early.
3. Caught the spike and then sold at a loss.
4. Just losers in life.
Nothing has changed since they released the prospectus and then the main market listing on Friday. If you bought in with belief in the direction then stick around. It's that simple.
Anyways I've done my fair share of nonsense busting and defending. Time to put these clowns in the filter bin where they belong.
I'll leave it to the rest of you.
Bye bye trolls! I really hope you find success in something. Clearly investing is not your calling.
Exactly Marley. Less than a week of trading, products not released and people are saying it's failed based on share price movement. It really is baffling.
It's hard not to blame social media for making people think gains are made in hours/days and not months/years.
Ash totally understand paper losses hurt atm.
For my understanding and for otherscan you tell js what's been shocking so far after such a short period. We know exactly when products are coming?
Thanks Monk. I may well need help with my investments.
You need help in life if this is how you choose to spend your days.
I know Blades. I almost don't want to but then I think someone should counter the nonsense. I guess it'll be a month or so before they go away and we can actually discuss what will happen going forwards.
It's the lack of commercial sense that defies logic. The company has raised money to launch the products they want. These buffoons think it's some kind of con. The guys who started this want to be rich. To become rich they need an actual business. No doubt they'll be working tirelessly to being their vision to fruition.
Atm the share price is position taking, short term trading and speculation. It's absolutely irrelevant to the long term.
Just Facemasks? Have you read the prospectus?
Do you know how businesses work? They are launching 2 products this year and then 8 next year. I don't know about you but when I invest I do it for the long term. I've been an Amazon holder for 10 years and still won't exit. Why would I? Every year some know it all tells me it's overvalued and will crash, blah blah blah.
yuyus hard to respect what you have to say when you didn't even realise that:
1. This isn't a shell (Google shell company for more).
2. This isn't listed on AIM. I'd tell you to Google that as well but I'll inform you instead. This is a Main Market Listing.
Please be civil and don't pretend to know who you're talking to???
I'm 100% certain you've trolled here under a different name!
You come across completely fake. I'll ask you again why care what others decide to put money into. Do you really think advice from a random person on an anonymous board makes any difference?
Monkfish why are you another wasting your time?
Nothing better to do with your days???
