Investment grade rating - once the ratings houses put this back to investment grade the big funds can start buying again. They already hold ~60%+ of the stock
Wonder if there was a flurry of day traders getting out to get into AngloAmerican this morning
Has this gone into an auction? I'm not seeing a price update yet
Boeing's bad results not as bad as expected, up 2.7% in premarket. Realise this is of limited relevance to RR, but good news all the same.
@PRN19 appears to be right. This is a clear de-escalation. The Israelis haven't admitted to anything. The Iranians effectively said something happened, but it didn't do any damage. The only person confirming there was a strike was the Americans. Israel reportedly angry at the Americans for saying it was Israel and thereby not allowing Iran to pretend nothing happened. Doubt there'll be anything more from this.
475p from everybody's favourite analyst
Bought back in at 308. I was annoyed at what it did to my average :)
Thanks for the response. Just having a little think about when to take some profit and what to keep invested (i.e. do I want more profit now, or more shares later).
Just having a read through the bumpf on the Capital Markets Day website. Very focused on the "mid term" which feels a bit woolly imo (I understand the reasons for this etc). Do people think "mid term" in this context is 2-5 years or 2-10 years approximately.
Dang I wish it was £475
Would have been a millionaire.
11) Ratings agencies re-rate to investment grade
Been looking for a defensive dividend producing stock, so added in here @ 2660p. Looked oversold and a good one if the world economy decides to implode in 2024.
I took some profit. A £500 buy at

Before or after it goes to £1.50?
I remain unilluminated by your tea leaf readings.

BBC News: "First transatlantic flight using 100% green fuels to take off
"Following test and analysis, the flight was approved by UK regulator the Civil Aviation Authority earlier this month. A number of companies have been involved in the project including engine-maker Rolls-Royce and energy giant BP."
Nice little story to get today going, hopefully its all happy news from here on out.

"Rolls-Royce Holdings Plc signaled it will hang onto its power systems business that some analysts had seen as a disposal candidate, as it looks for ways to slash costs and tie the unit closer to the rest of the group.
The company will cut the unit’s separate functions such as human resources and legal and instead integrate those roles with the rest of the group, according to people familiar with the company’s plans. Rolls-Royce will also look for ways to cut costs through group-wide procurement of parts and raw materials, the people said, asking not to be identified ahead of the company’s investor day next week.
Chief Executive Officer Tufan Erginbilgic has said he believes the unit, which makes diesel and gas engines for the marine and rail sectors, has a role to play within the group."
