Fwiw I think the fact that DLG has put up a good fight against the latest market onslaught in recent days speaks volumes itself, large trades in the closing auction is another anomaly to add to the recent ‘day-spike’ when we all thought we’d wake up to a bid the next morning!
If nothing else the yield has been a good enough reason to add on recent SP weakness GLA
Thanks for your thoughts on this. Friday will be a good reminder why we’re in here and it’s certainly been a good time to add. SP wise I doubt I’d reduce if we were 30p higher but I’d consider if 50p higher depending on what else is around at the time but retain a larger base holding than the last few years or so due to the geographical mix and their income gathering is a bit more diverse. I don’t think I’ve ever been ‘in profit’ on things like IMB but have kept the income focus whereas these have rarely stayed under 3 quid for long as far as I can remember!
It was up and down like a yo-yo after the Bloomberg thing, I keep
a core holding for the div and even with the 30% withholding tax at worst it’s still 7% nett of UK tax….crikey there’s a lot of tax going on to earn those divs these days lol.
They got up to nearly 130 and then crashed on a raising at 112(I think from memory) then back up and down and up when Bloomberg had a pop at them. If I pulled out altogether they’d really get going ! Harbour used to be premier, remember them right up there but not holding after the falkland/rockhopper pull out….on principle lol
Evening all. Interesting share the diversified gas one, pays a massive quarterly div but most get hammered on withholding tax, I’ve got a few in my income pot and they’ve had some volatile times lately on the SP so have added and reduced a few times.
Autumn quickly changing to winter. Hope everyone doing okay?
Some positives here for sure, recovery path defined IMO
Looking at the daily nav figures it seems we’re now trading around the nav, even a tad lower recently whereas previously as far as I can remember it was normally a decent premium to nav…any thoughts?
If that was the case, the holding would be offbook to another Insi, no idea what they’re up to but releasing a few more into the small free float will help liquidity I’d have thought.
P.s. I remember yonks ago we made quite a few quid on Augean or something like that…ahead of the pack! Hope you abd the family keeping well.
Hi Riddler, definately something cooking here,up till a month or so ago there were hardly any trades or interest, brief rise to 15 or so, prior to that slow drop from the twenties and prior to that….hey let’s not go there or I’ll be banging on about not getting a divvy for a few years again lol.
Added quite a bit and looking forward with a lot of interest…
Hi Wigwammer, thanks for that. Just shows what a small float there is too!
Hopefully the sand can be mixed with a bit of gravel or used for a smooth screed finish perhaps? Not sure how useful the planes would be unless the jerries have another go and our friends in the world bankrupt us again saving the ungrateful French of course lol…..
Well they could start with buying up a few of my larger holdings at a premium lol
Hi mate, they’re certainly pushing them at us for sure….in my view they should be more focused on hydrogen propulsion but what do I know….except you’ve just given me another reason why I won’t be buying a new defender anytime soon lol
Thanks for the links. Never heard of them either. They look the part but have they got the ‘grunt’ to be able to approach a muddy slope without worrying the battery will run out??
Anything electric/battery has what is known as ‘range anxiety’ and add off road to the mix I’d need to be convinced. Best off roader I’ve ever had was a defender(not the new one!) and my isuzu is a close second.
Hope everyone doing okay?
Not 100% sure if this is a new position or a restate with slight name change with Liontrust? Either way it’s very reassuring as they are respected investors who are likely to have done DD to add or retain, either way I’d say it’s a positive?
Interesting volume triggered off the back off it and hopefully the back of the seller on a delayed publication now showing on here. GLA
Hi Riddler and Harry, thanks for reassuring and that’s a good point on low revenue as a year ago you couldn’t give the stuff away and despite everything the oil price has doubled and I’m sure at some point the market will price in the ‘green creds’ here, frustrating when you believe in a company and patience is somewhat tested at times!
What I don’t understand as a LTH is why we are where we are SP-wise against all the positives and why the directors arn't updating us as to why a decent company has gone from pounds(yes pounds!) to pennies with these positives…very trying!
I’ve been a company director as well as a sole director in my own company for twenty odd years and if I’d ever been listed I’d have taken more interest in the PR and SP if I was listed I’m sure!
Anyway rant over, look forward to positive contract or whatever news and a much higher SP than today!
It’s been a few years now since we had a divvy and I’m looking forward to the next one! GLA
We’re on top of a rise where we are but put the van etc in a dip. A few years ago we dug some dew ponds out (with a six tonner) and ended up with a couple of big holes and loads of rock….no water…AA could come and get some stone for his dry walls!!
I agree, the adverts are cringe-worthy but keep the ‘hate proper agents’ theme!
