Afternoon all, hope all doing okay?
Decent day on the markets and glad to see a few losses eroded and some recent purchases actually showing a small profit. Looking back the truss/kwazi period was quite a good buying opportunity!!

I wish they’d get on with it and put a number on the table so as holders we can then decide what we’re doing! Since the Panmure approach happened the SP has hardly moved(although it was nice to get the divi a few weeks ago!). GLA

I agree on the points made,particularly if you factor in the divs received and over a longer view. Whilst we’re skating along(or today just above!) the bottom, it’s not so bad!
I think my ‘average’ is around 320 so it’s been a while since I’ve been in profit but even if I was I wouldn’t look to reduce unless they were 350ish and that would only be to spread the capital around a few other trusts to increase the diversity and frequency of income.
Plenty of quality mixed bag income trusts around but the dividend history here is to date exceptional and I’ve held these in varying quantities since the banking crisis, so if I was to factor in the 6-9% income I’m guessing it wouldn’t be that bad tbh.

Frustrating day as most up except these and Jupiter.
I guess the China news the driver as mentioned but knowing the Chinese love of money, I’d like to think their strange version of communism (capitalism!) I doubt that it’ll drop as much as the focused funds.
Definitely an add dilemma ahead of the ex now!

I must admit I’m tempted to add more and again they’ve announced another 6p!
I definitely wouldn’t describe it as a train wreck compared to a few others like EAT and some of the JPM ones that have or are about to cut the divs as pegged to nav year ends and practically halved on SP….on that basis we haven’t dropped anywhere that amount and we’re being paid handsomely to wait…..IMO!!

Let’s see what happens, I guess numis etc will be keeping an eye on developments here and with prices the way they are M&A, cost savings etc etc all in play.

Difficult to gauge where this could end up, I was happy to buy in the twenties for the yield alone and on that basis if we’re yielding c.10 % at this level then assuming the yield holds firm, then it’s arguably worth a fair bit more than today’s rise which has only really soaked up the economic shock of the last few weeks! Not all mine as such as look after some other accounts for friends and family, some I trade direct others just recommend and go through periods of inactivity and the last few weeks major activity!
Don’t know anything about shorting but I often think it’s something I’d like to get into lol

I must admit I like to stash Jerry cans,logs, bricks,blocks all manner of things whenever the opportunity arises but have to be careful with tinned food etc as those dates come around too quick…hate the idea of running out of things but never been one for precious metals as frankly I’d see more value in a physical pallet of cement than a gold bar!
I’ve got a few direct holdings in goldies on and off but more so in the funds I expect which I don’t monitor too closely bud.

All a bit grim at the moment for sure mate!
I’m a bit sporadic on posting these days I must admit despite having worked out I did nearly 750 grades this year so don’t go on about it too much or I’d be posting every five minutes lol.
Good work on those cats, might keep the mice at bay too!!
Income and cash plus stashing away things….had 4 tonnes of ballast delivered today and tarped it over….150 quid and hopefully a good long term investment ha ha!!

Happy with the logs and got a good fire going today after many months of not daring to burn anything with all that dry ground about!

Despite ‘everything’, I’m happy to maintain this one as my largest holding in a predominantly income portfolio due to the diversity and geographical reach and dare I say compared to a lot of my holdings this year,this one has held up comparatively well.
In an ideal world we find an oasis of calm in a world of chaos…investing that is, but it doesn’t exist in the real world….this isn’t far off in my experience and let’s hope the divs continue!! GLA

Lost a fair chunk on paper thanks to the territorial (I guess)ambitions of a dictator(!) and the naive incompetence of our latest leaders but got my income up on divs(the only true profit) so not going to focus on the negatives.
Winter approaching fast,trees turning and will be planting more when the ground dampens a bit more.
Building new facilities for some rescue hens I’m getting and despite all the doom and gloom there’s plenty of folks willing to chuck out pallets and ‘offcuts’ chipped bricks etc which I use up! Not too happy about the price of cement but nothing’s perfect lol.
Hope your pond okay Troj….have added a few more and salvaged water containers to feed them.

Dividend Declaration

The notice of AGM contains a resolution to approve a final dividend of 1.15p. Details of the final dividend proposed by the Board were included in the results for year ended 31 March 2022, announced on 14 July 2022, and the final dividend brings the total dividend for FY22 to 1.75p

The dividend will be paid on 7 October 2022 to shareholders who are on the register on the record date of 23 September 2022, and the corresponding ex-dividend date is 22 September 2022.

Interestingly some of the estates around this part of the world have set aside hundreds and hundreds of acres the last few years for wildflowers and nature habitats and with the ‘Putin factor’ questions about increasing grain etc production.
That idiot and his ambitions to better Peter the Great or whoever has effected more than death and destruction(and high diesel prices!),can’t believe no one has tried to pop him off yet!

No mate,we planted it ourselves on a hillside that wasn’t commercially viable due to its size. Just ag land I guess so no taxes. Off grid,no services and don’t live there. Obviously we pay council tax etc on the modern box where we live…..one day hope to live on the plot but planners only let their mates live on their own land!
