Does anybody know which stage between DD being completed and closure of a deal (or deals) that the proposed price is given to the shareholders to vote on?
Also would the share be suspended before this happens, presumably yes?
At which of the stages between DD and closure would we the shareholders be informed of an offer which we vote on? Would we be suspended before that happens?
Forgive my ignorance, I'm a novice with these matters
Surely it costs an awful lot of money to do due diligence for something this size and to release news like this it has to be a serious offer - the BOD haven't just given someone a tenner to tell UBS they are thinking about buying a multibillion set of assets
I'm a first time shareholder, have put more into this than anything bar my business and mortgage. Have been adding slowly to my holding for about 18 months and feel relatively relaxed.
Is it too far fetched/naive that the BOD would give any information by request if we are still waiting for the JORC figures by the end of the month?
Such as to say we expect them this quarter?
Tilly I think the JORC and deal at the same time is a pipe dream, I'm saying that to be proved totally wrong though. Just the JORC first thing tomorrow would save any more jibber-jabber on here...Thursday maybe the most likely?
I'm hoping for more but a round pound for each share would be absolutely agreeable!
There seem to be some strong opinions floating around this morning...here's my view. I help to run a soup kitchen for homeless people in Glasgow that serves hot food but we are looking at supplying ready meals to food banks. This is because of the demand to help poor households because kids are going hungry in a way that hasn't happened to such an extent before. I've seen all kinds of stuff in voluntary work, because Glasgow has junkies/thieves/pilfering Romanian kids (other countries are available)/self-pitying idiots galore.
I've also seen terminally ill people failing ATOS assessments and being told to get a job, met grown adults that are totally illiterate or have learning disabilities but have never had any help whatsoever. Also kids raised entirely on microwave food and don't know how to boil a potato.
Arguing in generalisations about benefit claimants is ridiculous because if people are atomised and not supported then vast numbers will have bad outcomes. One generalisation that is true is if you give up benefits for insecure work you very easily wind up worse off, which makes no sense. Having to help working families to feed their kids is just plain wrong. Not everybody has a stocks and shares ISA and a possible ace in the hole at the end of the year.
Give a little...
