Hi Meoryou,
It's difficult to see any takeover of BP coming to fruition anytime soon. If we were not a target when out share price was near £2 why would we be more attractive at 7, 8, 9, or 10. Makes no sense to me.
Mr Rooney seems to have come under fire on the board over the past few days and I have to say I fundamentaly disagree that he isn't doing a good job. We seem to have lost sight of the immense pressure he was under to transform BP into a renewables business from all quartets, including the green brigade., the government., institutional investors, and the general public outcry. He didn't have an option and took decisions that in hindsight havnt all been hugely successful, but when I read posts on here by some advocating that their strategy would propel the share price to £10 frankly its just listening to ducks farting on yonder pond. For my money he has been a superb CEO and reduced our debt mountain hugely during his tenure which Bob Dudley didn't manage to do although he was paid massively more than Bernard Looney.
I now wish he would put the dividend back to where it wad and suspend or reduce the amount of buybacks, and concentrate on further debt reduction while the sun is shining.
