Simply posting an alternative view up to people to make their own decisions based on pro/con view points. Certainly not naive to think what is posted on a bb will make the slightest difference to the sp.
Union Jack Oil (UJO) states that it “is pleased to announce an update in respect of the West Newton A-1, A-2 and B-1z discovery wells as part of the Extended Well Test programme, accompanied by an updated estimated best estimate in-place oil and gas volumetrics of the Kirkham Abbey reservoir”. The shares have responded more than 6% lower to 18p to sell, so is the news really ‘pleasing’?
The company emphasises that the test results “have confirmed that the WNA-1, WNA-2 and WNB-2 wells are substantial hydrocarbon discoveries within the Kirkham Abbey formation” and notes a West Newton updated best estimate 113.6 million barrels of hydrocarbon liquids stock tank oil initially in-place and 50.6 billion cubic feet of gas initially in-place.
House broker SP Angel notes those respectively compare to prior estimates of 146MMbbl and 212Bcf, whilst Union Jack is now to have a number of studies conducted on potential reservoir stimulation treatments.
The test results with those developments are not ‘pleasing’ and are why the shares have responded lower, to a current £20.6 million market capitalisation. We previously noted clear Wressle development upside potential but that West Newton also remains key. There was then also a “strategy U-turn, so why not placing U-turn?!”, with we noting then that, not understanding that, we would look to use upcoming news flow as an exit point.
We apologise that this has not worked out as hoped but, with now less project and strategy confidence here and various other plays already in the portfolio which we consider now much better placed to take advantage of the current positive sector momentum and seven year high oil prices, we now apologise and suggest you sell.

Unless we get positive news on Thar anything else is a distraction so i don`t see the sp going anywhere.
Then god help us the Gold asset is years from fruition if this is the case.
That`s the problem many of us invested on the belief that Thar was the priority not gold that will see no appreciable return for 4-5 years if a resource is established this is now being reflected in the sp.
Establish a Jorc compliant resource, Feasibility Study, Bankable feasibility study, Raise development funding. build mine. circa 4-5 years.
Well it needs to be a damn sight better than his 2020 bucket list if you followed that you would have lost your shirt I just hope UJO is not in it that would be the kiss of death on us.
Twist Fold or Hold? That's the question currently on the minds of some UK traders/investors hoping for a big Onshore UK Hydrocarbon discovery at the Rathlin operated licence, West Newton.
As of last week numerous city sources indicated that whispers (Unconfirmed) of a big hydrocarbon discovery where circulating. I tweeted this out last week. My gut tweet etc. So it's with a few caveats that following on from that, after more research that I'm now in a position to state that West Newton has had Major Hydrocarbon shows in the Kirkham Abbey formation side track drill. I believe that the partners may be on the cusp of finalising logs, data prior to an announcement of, potentially, one of the biggest UK Onshore Hydrocarbon discoveries.
When I say 'Hydrocarbon' I state that because as good or bad as I am at sniffing out information. I don't know what the make up is. It could be any one from 3, any two from 3 or all 3 three i.e. Oil, Gas, Condensate. I don't have access to Rathlins data suite.... I also don't know when the result good or bad or confirmed either way will be RNS'd. And remember there's always a chance, as a contact of mine said that I 'could be wrong or am being feed horse ****, by contacts'. I take that into consideration as this has happened to me 7/8 yrs ago by Evolution Securities on Tower Resources. There's always risk regardless.... There's no certainty until it's in an RNS.
But I do know 99% that the West Newton result is now known by the Operator, Rathlin and in my opinion it's coming in!
Make your decision/s based on your situation, don't come howling to 'Yours Truly' if it comes in or doesn't. Or if share prices rise 300%-400% and you miss it or you don't.... Contrary to pithy epithets, Fortune doesn't favour the brave and He who dares doesn't always win! He who knows the outcome does!
Twist, Fold or Hold!
Good Luck
Dan
