The Zimbabwean government announced last month that construction of the new $3 billion Sengwa coal power plant will proceed after years of negotiation.
The new 2,800 megawatt plant will be a joint effort between Zimbabwe’s Rio Energy and a consortium of Chinese state-owned enterprises led by the Wuhan-based infrastructure contracting giant China Gezhouba Group.
Gezhouba will be the lead contractor and will also be responsible for raising additional capital. Separately, Power China will build a 250km water pipeline for the plant along with transmission lines. And on the financing side, the Industrial Bank of China will be involved and Sinosure is already on board to provide risk insurance.
Officials say everything’s line up and ready to go which could be good news for electricity starved Zimbabwe that currently produces just over half of the 2,200 megawatts that Zimbabwe needs every day.
chelcele You describe AIM perfectly. The short term investor like myself when they invest in a co. most will set a target price once achieved will sell and move on it`s called trading for profit. Without short term traders you would have very little liquidity on a stock and without their buying you would not have the sp you have now.
MichaelGoodwill With £50k to invest the last place you should be looking is AIM there are a few mid tier co with decent production and prospects at very low prices at the moment those would be the ones i would research for the sort of money you are looking to invest.
Jstar Have to agree to some extent when i first invested here i set a target price of 1p that would give me an acceptable profit. Others may have a different target and good luck to them. But in the event of 1p i will be joining the queue to sell.
