The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with London Stock Exchange Group's Chris Mayo has just been released. Listen here.
I know Stokey, it was more of a tongue in cheek reply given it lands on the 1st April. I hold zero hope that daera will be sticking to their own deadline, whether that is submitting to Mr Poots, or announcing any recommendations publicly by end of play tomorrow. But having said all this, the future is still very bright, and overwhelmingly so, there's too many low hanging fruits to not be optimistic at this time
Having got suckered into hoping and believing that to be true I have now had time to reflect.... could it just be a bit of pre April Fool banter?? The continued contributions by all to this board are brill so again I thank everyone for the snippets whilst we wait for any news. I can't help but see similarities to another share I was once invested in....Monetise....a mobile phone payment technology company. Many shareholder's would do great research into potential work and contracts in the hope that the company was on the cusp of signing lucrative deals with banks etc. Sadly monitise were bought out at a pittance for what most (including me) paid. The weighted pipeline is huge for infa and it's now up to the bod to turn any of it into contracts that make us PI's wealthy. Get it right and we will be laughing. Get it wrong and it will show utter incompetence in being able to seal a deal as I firmly believe there are mega contracts there for the taking across the 5 sectors. Gla.... looking forward to the daera announcement 2mo! :p
Hi all, I'm a slow reader and skim reading the strategy but what I am reading is looking good for Team Resolute and or h&w. I've feared the drive to build British would impact on any team resolute partnership however page 70 states "While we are specifying
what industrial capabilities we expect to
be maintained onshore as national
security priorities, this does not preclude
overseas based companies being
involved." And then this on page 90 which gives me great confidence in answering any questions around current h&w experience..."The intent is to create a virtuous cycle of
improvement across the maritime
ecosystem. By carefully phasing the
programme, we will sustainably grow the
capacity and capability of the UK
shipbuilding enterprise, potentially
drawing on the expertise of international
partners where appropriate." These 2 snippets have confirmed in my mind that we are on the cusp of multi million £ mod work
And that in itself speaks volumes Stokey. I have no doubt if an NI wished to forward a question they would have been rostered
So far I count 5 Snp mp's passing comment about Scottish shipbuilding! Zero dup
Quick take.... social value factor introduced to future contracts. Belfast and appledore should score full marks for that! Emphasizing work for shipyards across the UK in answering question from snp. Which on a related note, I have to commend Snp politicians for the incessant vocal support for their shipyards. Where's the equivalent support from NI mp's?? It's maddening. Thanks for linking the document too. No time to read til later and would appreciate any snippets from anyone
Thanks for sharing Chris... this is excellent and bodes very well for infa. The team have been given a huge carrot from the white paper. The significance of a direct mention should not be underestimated in my opinion. Now it's up to the team to get the mod work over the line. I don't personally have any concerns about lack of experience and the reason for that is called Team Resolute. Even if h&w go it alone I'm sure they will pull on expertise of navantia and bmt if required
Cheers Stokey, one way or the other by the end of tomorrow we will be much clearer in how the mod will be supporting the levelling up agenda I think. If not then we will just have to wait for a long awaited rns or 2
Thanks Stokey, no I didn't notice that pre market price action. Could it be the software you are using? I got an alert about a month ago saying infa was rocketing over 150%! Scrambled around for an rns that never happened. I saw it as a taster of things to come :D
Morning all, defence secretary will be making a statement at 3.30pm today in the commons. Will be watching for any mention or hint of business for h&w. Tomorrow is the defence industrial strategy announcement too so if I was a betting man I'd say 2mo is most likely to be where locations for work are announced in line with the levelling up agenda
Great bit of information there ttny cheers. And yes a great customer to be having too! Roll on next week...it could be massive :)
If I'm correct this is a new customer? Might be a relatively small boat but new clients are always very much welcome!
I'd say some form of mod work is almost a certainty, although perhaps not the most forthcoming contract
I think the cruise ship was one of the Vikings from last year.... would be lovely to find out it was a photo from today lol. Once again I believe next Monday and Tuesday are going to be very interesting days with the white paper on Monday and the defence industrial strategy published on Tuesday. Surely next week is going to be the week we have all been hoping for?! Gla
I was hoping for more specifics on areas (i.e. northern Ireland) getting navy work as part of levelling up....not forthcoming yet.
Ok great thanks clarifying Stokey
Moving nicely now! Isn't Boris making a statement at 11.30am today regarding the review? In any case all eyes are peeled. Gla... could be the start of big things at last
Thanks Stokey much appreciated
Sorry I meant the integrated review :) I use the investing.com app for live prices, always seems pretty reliable
Thanks for your market insights Lottie, very much appreciated, especially when you inform of things looking good lol. Stokey.... Do you know where i can watch it live?
