The reluctance to make a public overt approach is likely to be hostility from BOD as they have or soon will have a liquidity solution and/or the price is not right. Pfac is definitely takeover material and likely in 2024 but obviously the BOD will want a friendly and so 150-200 SP valuation.

The fact that they have returned after a positive RNS is a sign of fear and a cue to BUY. 100 is a realistic short term gain on new contract news and positive liquidity or takeover news. We are off the bottom! Just under 9 million shares traded which is the most for a while and a decent rise at the close.

The only way is up now. These shares will be over 200 in a year.

Wood or Apollo will be casting an eye Petrofac’s way. But a takeover would involve settling a lot of debt. A merger would make a lot of sense though. Even a credible rumour of this occurring would jack the share price right up. Definitely a likelihood that unofficial soundings out will be happening. A middle east involvement or takeover is less likely but nevertheless possible.

A takeover or merger makes sense. Short term liquidity set against long term gains make it a no brainer. Small change for BP.
