The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Interesting piece in the FT recently that I posted on the WRES bb about new measures to help 're-industrialise' the Spanish economy, including injection of some stimulus and cutting the top rates of corporation tax, that should benefit the likes of WRES and ORM by improving margins, although as ever the devil will be in the detail and execution. http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/181d69c6-e96c-11e3-bbc1-00144feabdc0.html
Very interesting, although they botched the % up, we wouldn't know that that insti was taking a stake if they hadn't, as would be under the 3% threshold. Could see some further buying in from them, but would'nt find out unless/ until they go over 3% or balls up again! GLA
That would be my view too. It is a more cautious approach and I admit for non-holders it is quite tempting to take a punt from these low levels (prior to permit) but risk remains quite high here for the moment. I'd also expect that practically nothing gets signed off in Spain by ministers during July and August LOL. My money would be on September but happy for holders to be proven wrong on that. Balance of probabilities this will come good, just delays is all. Anyone watching and not buying now should expect to buy back in at higher level once permit issued. I know ORM say that the bond funding is not subject to licence receipt but I can imagine the financiers being a bit sticky with their cash prior to license approval? If the finance news comes in first, I'd take that as further confidence that the license was a done deal and may re-appraise at that point. My thinking is that license approval will come first. GLA
I bet they are profit shares too LOL. Well done
I have a small piece in here, not anything like some of you guys but think this will do very well from here. I remember you used to hold a lot of CAZA and did quite well out of them - I think selling out in the high 30's?. Anyway after the long lean period they are looking like a transformed company at the moment/ profitable and stranglehold of YAGM disappearing. Just wondered whether you ever bought back or keep an eye out? Look to be properly re-rating and it is good to see. Apols for the o/t
Yes, Corbs agree good to see Jan adding. Whilst a decent t/o would have been nice - this is one excellent company IMO and happy to hold these a long time. Good luck mate.
No news and big rises for a few more days and then news? GLA
Well that last post won't make any sense to any of you. I used google translate to get the mandarin for 'this looks good, can we buy it?' LOL Great looking presentation and for me only one purpose being to support the sale of Assets/ Company. GLA
这看起来太棒了,我能买吗?LOL
OK, what the heck, this seems to be bouncing pretty sharpish, like I have experienced on shares where shorts are closing (QPP recently). It has gotten ridiculously cheap and the OPs update was frankly great, so is it iis or PI's with deep pockets grabbing more (Big Gib1 fess up if its you...). Looks like a proper trend reversal. Long may it continue.....at least on paper it is starting to make me look less dumb! None of this will mean a hill of beans of course at the £2 takeover party.....Come on BoD, PALA get it done already.
spindok Fair do's mate. WRES has assets in Portugal too and we are also overdue licence news on Regua project. I am sure ORM will come good in that timescale though! and really should see a large increase on confirmation of the licence I would have thought. Historically speaking the SP represents pretty good value at these sort of levels. There's been some good posts on this BB today and I agree with some views that the market is waiting on the bond package to be done. I do think the Directors could have stumped up some of their hardearned in the placing though (only hold 1.5% between them). WRES by comparison only has 50% of shares in free float, as management have backed the company big time (which I always like to see). Best of luck here, will keep a watching brief. GLA
Just gone through according to google Finance and another tick up. These are not isa buys LOL GLA
Some nice regular and decent sized buys coming in this am, lets see if the pattern continues for the rest of the day. ii buys? what say you? GLA
Further to my o/t (new Tungsten producer) tip - WRES was up 10.5% today and looking good for more over the coming days/ weeks as production confirmed to market. SP still just 10% up from 52 wk lows, so great time to get on board IMO. Good to see ORM stabilise a bit today. Its a very quite BB this one!
Morning peeps, I've said this before but since PALA came on board they have made this an efficient beast. Great buy at these prices. Just waiting for the t/o then. :)
Hi guys, think this was expected here. Not a problem for any LTH's I am sure. I was waiting to see how the financing would pan out here before considering investing. Would also recommend a quick O/T tip: WRES (currently at 52wk sp lows with only 50% of shares in free float the rest held by management). Great management with big dealmaking background, about to commence tailings production (fully permitted) in Spain, Tungsten/ tin and Gold Assets in Portugal and Spain. Multiple SP drivers, offtake being negotiated currently looking for back in costs as part of that to part fund the main La Parilla mine, along with production revenues. Seriously, I think a good opportunity but obviously DYOR. Good look to all LTH's here. Will keep an eye in here to see how the placing news plays out.
Yes, excellent to see GDL's Daddy (as it were) on fire! Just for laughs: http://www.shareprophets.advfn.com/views/4709/green-dragon-gas-court-case-lost-70-million-needed-fast Self proclaimed 'expert tipster' Tim Winnifroth's insightful piece from 30 March on GDG being described as, and I quote, 'patently one of the most overvalued shares on the cesspit' F'n joker. Really hope his shorts caught fire.....
Excellent set of results as far as I can see. The focus on cost reduction and what they have acheived has born fruit and puts the company in a great position as Rutile prices strengthen (he hopes). Corbs - no mention of buyer, I found a bit strange too but think Gibralta is right they'd have to notify if the situation had changed and there were no active discussions ongoing. GLA
Offtake news out this am, very quiet BB this one. Good news as the buyer is taking 100% of first 5 years production. GLA
Had a little buying action going there on the 10th, was hoping that was going to be a regular feature. Whilst we wait for news (of our Chinese buyer - me hopes), just for fun: I like Chinese! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH2P_pVze6s :)
