I for one do not find it remotely surprising how the market has handles the news. Am I happy with the news? Yes, extremely, but the price will only come once a clear result is published. I totally agree that if any other biotech small cap would of posted similar news they'd be a 30-40% mark up, not naming any.... hemo... ;-) jokes, but thats the nature of the beast. Will dig for some research and perhaps post an in depth review later on, but for now as ever, dyor and ride the waves.

UK cases may be decreasing, but world population cases are increasing daily. The easing of restrictions imo (to get the economy starting again) will see perhaps another spike here, and an approach back to the drawing board in which tougher regulations may be applied. Good news here on a few fronts, and happy to hold for results. As a few on here have said, just because the suns shining , more cars are on the road and restrictions 'eased' doesn't mean this virus has gone anywhere.

Seems that there's a little buzz about this company now, few new folks posting on here.

No, the company stated "Results from this part of the study are still expected in June 2020" no specific date given.

For anyone looking to invest here, or perhaps refresh yourself on why you made the investment, here are a few of my own points, researched in depth and collaborated for all to view.

1. Synairgen is developing a formulation of IFN-beta, called SNG001, for direct delivery to the lungs via nebulisation, to treat and/or prevent LRT illness caused by respiratory viruses.

2. 18th March 2020, Synairgen started the trials of SNG001 in Covid-19.

3. Synairgen have been mentioned in the 'Dragon Project' A new international project FULLY FUNDED by IMI and supported through the European Horizon 2020 framework programme.

4. Two Phase II trials (SG005 and INEXAS) in asthma, conducted by Synairgen and AstraZeneca respectively, suggest that SNG001 boosts antiviral responses in the lungs, has a beneficial effect on lung function.

5. Southampton, UK - 30 April 2020: Synairgen plc (LSE: SNG), the respiratory drug discovery and development company, announces that it has received approvals to extend the SG016 trial to patients with SARS-CoV-2 in the home environment. 

(75 patients out of the target 100 now dosed with Synairgen's wholly-owned drug SNG001 or placebo).

6. Snippet from 'The Lancet'

"Future clinical study of a double antiviral therapy with interferon beta-1b as a backbone is warranted" Further strengthening the use for Synairgens fully owned drug.

7. Synairgen was identified in the WHO's landscape analysis of therapeutics as at 17th February 2020 as the only phase 2 / phase 3 / observational therapy delivered by the inhaled route.

8. 26th march 2020 - Synairgen had raised the funds in HEAVILY OVERSUBSCRIBED fundraising through the issue of 40mln new shares at a price of 35p. (Current price 53.50p)

9.  Bradford is also one of just four centres in the UK researching the effects of Beta Interferon on coronavirus, in a study coordinated by the University of Southampton.

"Beta interferon improves the immunity within the airwaves of the lungs against the Covid-19 virus so that it helps protect the people from coming to harm," explained Dr Saralaya"

10. Small snippet of an article I found really interesting.

It’s possible that treatment with so-called type-1 interferon “could stop the virus before it could get established,” Menachery said"

gollumk - its a phrase used in the market, mainly due to the fact news can appear anytime. Those not invested may miss out 'over the weekend' as news could land the following trading day (usually Monday) And you'll have to pay a premium to get back in, providing the news is good ofcourse. You'll pick up on quite a few cheesy comments like that over time on these boards, take of it what you will!

GPS1 - The company since 2014 have released there 'Annual Report' around this current month. So yes, they're due anytime. Holding it back may off been the wrong phrase, but perhaps a few substantials being finalised which they'll release in due course.

Came across an interesting article recently, translated from Spanish to English for the benefit of this board.

Canadian experts that make up a multinational team confirmed the hope of using antivirals such as interferon in the treatment of patients with Covid-19, a procedure that Cuba uses successfully in fighting the pandemic.

According to the study that confirms what has already been proposed by Cuban experts, interferon more efficiently eliminates the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, and reduces the levels of inflammation linked to the disease, a study quoted in digital media.

Interferon is a substance made by cells of the immune system of vertebrate animals and can be produced in large quantities in the laboratory. Since China began applying it to treat its patients with Covid-19, the Cuban drug has generated purchase interest in almost fifty countries.

Now I do belive they're referring to Alpha2B, however, as the pandemic stretches its yet again showing why interferon COULD potentially help patients/people who are diagnosed with this disease.

Price moving up quickly now, race before the bell.

52.7 to sell 5k... spreads really tight.

Standard 'this is more than just a covid play' lines coming out when the price declines. I'd say 80% of the current mcap is due to the current circumstances regarding covid-19. Would anyone disagree? Not a deramp, just trying to balance out here.

A big shake really would free up this share for a heavy move north, scaring privates into a belief the big boys are bailing on 'poor results' only to allow a cheap entry for others. I wouldn't put anything past the market with the transparency or lack of in most cases. If you've done the research, trust the management and most importantly yourself, then sit on your hands and ride out the waves. Many other covid related stocks have done significantly well on good news, no reason at all why this cannot do the same.

Extremely low volume, dare I say it... perhaps they've stopped selling ;-)

No news is good news in my eyes, as any major side effects early doors eg: flare-up, increased inflammation would put the trial to a holt (which would be rns'd).
