Coke fuelled gambling???
It’s not all bad then !
They lose as much as they win!!!!

Where are you seeing the short close?
It’s marketing, they have minimal volume but it drags fringe buyers to the site who may find other stuff less radical but acceptable.
Most of us still have leisure and work wardrobes
THG, Asos comparisons are pointless.
THG website has to tell you what they do!!!
You go to AsOS to buy clothes.
Another investment of mine is Renishaw. Due to report tomorrow but just got bumped to the 19th.
Up 4.%!!!!!
Delaying by a few days shouldn’t be taken either .+or-
Retail is finished apparently!!!!

I find it extraordinary asos sp I’d being dragged down to these levels again.
There is zero basis for it.
It would be interesting to quantify the combine share purchases of the 3 big holders vs the outstanding short position.
My guess is the saving to them of the price being held down outweighs any short position loss by a large margin.
Go check out NEXT’s ethical issues a few years ago. They’re doing fine.
There’s no one especially clean.
And definitely not the Chinese backed slave enterprises you’re talking about.
Sit back and watch them get skinned
Thanks for that. 2019 was a car crash and as they say too ambitious. They were still growing sales and actually ran out of stock in the us.
If the underlying results are decent minus poor trading due to the weather I’ll be happy.
Somebody needs to expand on the the 2019 numbers, did they make some large investments?
Prior to that the results look great, trending the covid years are obviously an anomaly but loads of companies foolishly geared up thinking we would never revert to normality.
ASOS ended up with ludicrous stock levels, when your making money handover fist it’s easy to take your eye off the ball these guys did that big time.
The model is the hear and now and future of retail.
People are always prattling on about Shein and temu. Suing each other like rats in a sack.
I’d be worried if there weren’t these new comers, what more do you need to know that this is the space you want to be in.
They now have some expensive short term debt. If they turn around the base business, primarily stock control they will start to make growing consistent profits.
Don’t lose sight of the £265 million they paid for the top shop brands.
Asos is so cheap it’s ridiculous.
Ashley would buy it now for £10 but knows he can’t he’ll treble his investment inside 12 months regardless so that’s no bad outcome.
Can you explain that again?
Yes and will continue for sometime. High street retailers have to have an exceptional offer to make it work. Zara, Nezt etc.
Your probably still going to by designer way from a smart store but everything else where value is crucial ends up on line.
It’s a lower cost route to market.
The high street is going to look different in future, less old school shops and more leisure.
Can any one point to an analyst forecasting ASOS below £5 this year?
Market beat consensus £788.64
AIP-------------------------- £690.67

DYOR
The most recent drop started Monday the 4th, the same day QUBE increased their short position by just 0.05.
It's self fulfilling, they've seen a 17% drop, it's like printing money.
If your investment horizon is days then you shouldn't be here, if you look ahead Asos has huge potential to the up side as their major share holders tell us every time they buy asos shares.
I have no idea why you'd sell today if you look beyond this year.
The 3 largest share holders have all added significantly to their positions in the last couple of weeks. These people all know retail inside out.
Follow the money.
He’s using the proceeds to buy asos shares
That’s looking on the bright side. I’m still expecting a good update. That said an important lesson will be learnt regardless.
If it’s poor the shorts have known for weeks and are trading data we don’t have.
Criminal.
