Smells like desperation for cash and with that, you would think their offer would be more than our cash !!!!

Much of the week involved deal talk concerning Reabold Resources PLC (LON:RBD) and Deltic Energy PLC (LONL:DELT).

Reabold on Friday responded to an earlier rejection of its takeover approach by Deltic with a defence of its West Newton project in Yorkshire's East Riding. The AIM-listed group currently has a 39.7% economic interest in the West Newton project through a 59.5% interest in Rathlin Energy, the prospect’s operator.

It said it would be pleased to provide access to detailed and up to date information and spend time with the Deltic board and its advisers to explain the significant upside potential in its portfolio and the forthcoming West Newton appraisal wells.

Reabold has proposed an all-share offer of 1.5 of its shares for each one in Deltic, which at the time of the offer valued the former Cluff Natural Resources at approximately £12.3mln or around 0.87p per share. Deltic said the offer did not even reflect its existing cash balance (£13.2mln) and said it also had concerns over a number of Reabold's investments and, in particular, the West Newton project

Your investment strategy is unusual, you wouldn't invest yesterday when the news broke and you had a chance of getting in sub 60, but you will invest when its over £2, when its likely all the recent places have bailed with possible 4 x increases in their investment and then for you to achieve this, the sp would have to be nearer £10....I will refrain from calling you a ramper.

Let's be real, its not me you want to keep posting, I think its the company that should be doing that.

Oil is gone out of fashion atm and although gas has been hit too, gas is seen as a transitional fuel as we all go to greener fuels.

If Shell cancel their projects with Delt, maybe Delt with hoover up Rbd whe their cash level evaporate soon.?

jpsherwin, I'm not knocking you, but if a company values itself a certain valuation and states it will update the market with progress on deals which support that valuation, then backtracks on those dates which add to the demise in the valuation, you would think the company would come back to the market with regular updates to show the progress it is making to correct this imbalance. The recent interview was a whitewash from the bod, which I think are in panic mode as the recent events brought on from covid have totally wiped out the prospects of Syme in the market.

How is the best way to get hold of Delt and how to put their cash pile to better use ...lol
If Rbd has such great ideas, just go to the market, have another massive placing and you can then make all these wise investments.
Best to leave Delt alone and it can decide what to do with its own money.

And then we have the (none paid posters ?) come on here fighting syme case about how we are all wrong and those negative articles are all false news........
WELL, A SIMPLE WAY TO SILENCE THE CRITICS IS FOR THE BOD TO COME OUT AND EXPLAIN WHY THEIR WONDER COMPANY HAS CRASHED IN PRICE SINCE COMING TO THE MARKET AND THEIR PRIDICTION FOR WHEN THIS WILL RIGHT ITSELF.....THAT THEY SHOULD KNOW, AFTER ALL, IT WAS THEM WHO VALUED IT IN THE FIRST PLACE

But use the chance to offload if you can...This has years to go yet and when they have offloaded the placing share (which will take a while) the sp will retrace....
Final note, why would you pay more than twice the placing price with years of trials to go ???, this may be a $billion company in time but it will have another large placing nearer the time at sub 50 and thats when the city investors will come onbord, by then though you will be sitting with you £1 plus..overpriced shares. If you know me, you will know I've been here a long as you. Not holding atm, but will pop in from time to time. Yes, the investment is huge, but recruitment and trials during covid will take time and presume will have additional costs. All that said, todays rns is good news (not great for the lth) and I can see the sp falling further in the meantime.gla

Valuations on aim can be read in many ways, Delt is at an near all time low based on no news due, but as we all know, this can change in a blink, your case would have no backing if this was April when Rbd was valued at half of what it is now.

Don't hit the buy button till next year, when the has settled to around sub 30, a long time to go here before and pivotal news.

Its going to be nearer a 50% split, otherwise Rbd will need to go to the markets if it wants to increase its cash balance and that will see its shares been massively diluted. By doing a 50/50 split, Rbd will have access to additional funds but will also have the extra portfolio which Delt owns. For Delt, it could be seen as an expansion of its assets. Thats a lot of money raised at a reasonable sp and shows confidence in vrp. Is it a buy now though, that is the question.... These new trials will take a while to set up (especially with covid about) and even longer before results start to flow in.....so on that note, I would say best to watch for now and might to worth a punt next year at a lower sp..gla

Sounds like their challenge has failed for now, but if Delt is willing to engage, they may revalue their offer...

The rampers are starting to pop up. If Rbd is such a good company, keep it all to yourselves, better again, buy more and praise each other on the Rbd board, we don't need your ramps here. Cash is king in this market and we have plenty, if we need to sit things out for a while, then so be it. By next year the Rbd sp will have collapsed either by additional funding or not been able to raise any.

DELT is in play and Stifel who raised the cash for both companies just over 1 year ago has had to stand down but will be in the background talking to the big shareholders. Shareholders in RBD include Miton, Ruffer, Hargrave Hale (which owns 16% of Delt within the Malborough Unit Funds) Hambro and even Fidelity. Shareholders in DELT include Malborough, Michael Spencer who between them control DELT. Horse trading has commenced but how will it pan out as the DELT shareholders will want to see their capital back at somewhere around the 1.75p placing price of July 2019......£25m market cap. RBD HAVE A MKT CAP OF £40,000,000 with AIMHO FA to show for it! So why would DELT even think about a TAKE OVER by RBD at even 1.75p !?!?!

We will now have the usual paid posters telling us how bad Delt is and the benifits the merger will bring......To be fair, we are a sitting target with now with no real news due till next year.
