We have all been there, aim is a totally different market than it was ten years ago. Back then the fluctuations in the sp werent so dramatic and you stood a good chance of getting out with your money if you lost faith in a company. Nowadays, they just swipe the legs from under the sp leaving the pi punter with the decision to sell up at great loss or play a waiting game in the hope the company is a success. Took a stupid risk here chasing a heavy loss and by luck not wisdom, I got out roughly even. I always had fate this was a winner, but as I said before the latest results didn't seen to be mind boggling.....and that's what's needed here now to stand any chance of lth's seeing their money again.gla

Black cat is a new limited company which (Val) have no holdings in atm. This new company will raise up to £5mill to further advance val 401. The money will be raised from a private investment company of which the terms are not disclosed. That's where one problem lies, (they may have the right to convert the load in shares in Black Cat and by doing do become a major shareholder, who knows, maybe 90% holder. Problem no 2 is Val through its partner will give up all rights to 401 for a percentage of the new company...this percentage is not disclosed do means make.
The way I read the Rns is that somebody sees potential in 401 and it's been taken into private hands with little or no reward for existing Val holders.....just my take on things

Priced around cash in hand, no value given to the various drugs they have in their portfolio. Think this will ride the Woodford storm and gain traction when the dust settles helped by more positive trial updates. The fact their not a one trick pony should help.gla

But no more, been comparing their latest results against others and have to say not impressed. If you check out Circassia's new drug (Duaklir) with Tiotropium, you will nearly see matching results. Duaklir has been approved by the FDA after 3 phase 3 trials and 1 phase 4. Vrp will need a lot of money and a long time before they get a sniff of any market....Sold up, but will keep an eye on things just in case something new is mentioned.gla

I agree, I think the Neil Woodford crash is having a negative effect on sp's all over the bio sector as he tries to liquidate his holdings. Then, as prices crash, funding becomes an issue.

I'm no expert, just tying to read something from the scraps of info we pi's are given, but the way I see it , Arthurian +Arix had at least a combined holding of 4.5% recently and have sold 1.3% into the news. This leaves Arix alone with 1.2% to sell atm. Haven't got a clue where Polar picked up their holding from, as I mentioned before Renaissance had a position which they sold. The problem with the likes of Woodfords funds is they invest in different companies who then go on to make investments themselves......some of which criss-cross each other and it makes it difficult to know exactly what position the original fund is actually holding in a particular company. All a case of smoke and mirrors and that's the way they like it.
