Forget about poor employees. You have them in every industry. But the sheer waste on white collar workers is appalling. The total apathy towards saving money, as is what is required by shareholders and the business, is worse now, than prior to privatisation.

And whilst i agree that managers are needed, will you need more or less, with a dwindling blue collar work force.

As for culling? It will be done voluntarily or through natural wastage. Much the same as was heralded here by many, when it applied to the blue collar worker.

Us lower level workers will be needed now, to make a smooth transition when the USO reform kicks in. But 2 years down the line, who knows?

@ JBT. The CWU want all delivery staff to work to their time. This includes overtime. One reason why they are very accepting of these proposals. I would not include the majority of delivery staff. I would also suggest that the CWU look forward to a very large cull in management roles. I can see DW grinning from ear to ear.

I cannot wait to see how these trials work out. I have a lot of friends whose delivery office is within a mail centre. I'd imagine that these types of units would be the ones doing the trials.

But in the meantime: Let's hope it's a no vote.

I've read today that trialling the USO reform starts in Feb 2025. Scaling up to 37 delivery offices, it will also include 13 mail centres and distribution centres. Apparently in readiness for when OFCOM "agree" to let the changes happen. This is envisaged to be in summer 2025. First class letters 6 days a week, any other letters, every other day, monday - friday. Parcels 7 days a week. A littlt too late for many shareholders.

But i would suggest that "ONE" stand-out point was when BG said that a JV for Pepas wasn't the way to go, unless it was exceptional. Not the exact wording, but you get my point.

Another would be that BG stated he had never seen these grades in 40+ years.

And all supported by the CWU. After 35 years at RM, it seems that the CWU will finally get their way. To make all posties work their time. And thereby securing their jobs, and future jobs.

BG's enthusiasm when talking about Pepas. The fact he said that it would be foolish to do a JV now unless it was spectacular. BG telling LC not to worry, as he was not going to mention how much it would cost to mine, in g/t. The continued drilling at Pepas.

I could probably make a whole list regarding Pepas.

And, interestingly, BG only mentioned the companies finances a couple of times. I'm hoping that this means he expects the warrants to be exercised soon. Obviously to fund Pepas.

I would also suggest that the fact BG stated that mine build costs would be much lower, because of the open pit mining scenario, then this maybe something that has been discussed. Can anyone imagine the stampede if a "small" mine was built for Pepas?

I cannot wait to see what happens on opening tomorrow.

How many financial providers in the UK will be hit with these ludicrous claims? And how much will it eventually cost the consumer? If you are right, and i don't think you are, companies will fold. The remaining ones will hike their t's & c's, to cover any losses from these claims.

I'd be interested to hear how you think the Govt and FCA will mitigate this fiasco, so that companies can stay solvent. A claim, is a claim. What's right for one, will be right for all. End of story.
