There could easily be a bid situation for GGP as I can't see NC willing to pay much for GGP's other assets. How could they when its so speculative ? Other miners and hedge funds and private equity funds will be very interested to counter bid. Of course that could be great for GGP shareholders. But I don't think NC would make such a basic strategic error in opening up GGP to other parties. So I NC will make an offer for Havieron when they are more certain of what's there. And they could tie in a JV for Scallywag in the same deal. If someone else outbids them for GGP NC are in a much worse situation.

Remember that NC are a large public company . They would first have to issue an MRE with potential valuation of Havieron to justify a bid for the 30% they don't own. And then they would have to guess a value for the rest of GGP. Can't see that happening as no one knows what else is there.

A buy out of the 30% Havieron mine is very likely. But I just don't see how they could make an offer for all of GGP when no one knows what else is there. What could they offer for that ?

I can’t see how they can start a decline unless they know where the outer edge is. Which I don’t think they know yet.
