I will jump in to invest when I fully understand it.

It would give them a say in the future direction of GGP. They wouldn't want RIO or another miner to control GGP. A good move IMHO, but will they be willing to pay the price ?

A new JV for Scallywag could be on similar terms to Havieron, but with a few extras.
1. An upfront payment on signing the JV. (£100m)
2. A further payment on deciding to mine. (£200m)
3. Ongoing royalty on each ounce mined. (US$ 100/200 )
4. And the 25% is up for negotiating.
All easily affordable for NC and acceptable to their shareholders. A good deal all-round.
